The revenge of the stripey socks - a DFW adventure

Evening
I'll email you Fay, I'd love to see your lodger's lovely photos!
Pah to stupid oil billsAnd hooray for free wood and willow!
I am having Very Stupid DayCan I borrow your 'brain sick' idea and give you a bullet point list of reasons why?? Then I'll go away til I'm more cheery, I promise!
(1) spent all last week at work as boss (disabled woman I do PA work for) got married on Saturday. So so so so tired
(2) slept for 12 hours yesterday (hooray!) but still tired now
(3) had STUPID big fight with Mr Daffs about washing (of all stupid things)
(4) 'nice' supervisor just emailed to say she is too busy and won't be able to read ANY DRAFT of my PhD before it's submittedSo stuck with only comments from evil one (who is fortunately behaving very well at the minute - thank goodness)
(5) am on too many stupid tablets which are making me feel ABSOLUTELY ROTTEN
(6) and (shut your ears boys) giving me stupidly heavy periods (must have lost 4 pints of blood in last week at least) (being very MSE about it though and using home made cloth sanitary pads in cheery multi colours - which cost nothing and are VERY CHEERY)
(7) am TIRED! (did I say that already??)
(8) just had a bath and it was COLD
(9) am fat and podgy and blobby
Bah!
But here are the cheery things (I think):
(1) got Leave of Absence approved so PhD doesn't have to be submitted til end of October (rather than tomorrow) - YIPPEE!
(2) Mr Daffs is great really, just temperamental GRUMPY OLD rock star GIT sometimes
(3) at least they know what's wrong with me now even if tablets making me feel bad!
(4) PhD is NEARLY OVER - YIPPEE!
(5) was very brave and played flute in church on Saturday for the wedding, and people thought it was great - YIPPEE!
(6) boss is now on honeymoon for 2 weeks so I don't have to go to work - YIPPEE!
(7) going to work last week means I actually get paid some money!! (am going to practice saving - I want to go to Shetland for Christmas! (well, want to go to Orkney, but already done that twice so may have to compromise on Shetland...))
(8) er, that's it.
Maybe today's problem was lack of stripey socks?? They were all in the wash, so just wore plain red ones - but had red and white stripey knickers, do they count???0 -
Cheery daff brain sick away
Ok let me see here need to get this right.......OK (deep breath) hands cheerydaff a humumgous pair of brightly coloured rainbow stripey socks, hot choccie, choccies and a massive bunch of flowers. Phones her a takeaway - puts feet up on a fluffy cushion and hands her a nice glass of wine.
First off you are cream crackered, second you need to see the docs re-humungous bleeding unless you are planning on losing most of your blood for some act of kindness which seems a bit silly - therefore I think (and you probably have) you need to see your Dr pronto. EIther that or spend the rest of your life doing a handstand (which I think might not work). I am glad the docs know whats up with you but sounds like you need alot of tlc right now. How decadent to have awesome coloured lady-cloths!
Only ever have baths with tremendous amounts of bubbles if feeling crappy - even a stick insect will feel blobby and horrible in the bath - NO ONE looks good in the bath without copious amounts of bubbles and potentially some candles not even the most gorgeous woman in the world - she'd still look sh*te.
Mr CD (sorry that did make me snigger) sounds ace and you are both under an enormous amount of pressure - better to fight about the washing than the fact that you hate each other etc etc etc. I dont suppose he wants a copy of Guitar Hero - Metalica for the Wii (pals getting rid of one)? That might stop him being a grumpy rock god, make him play his guitar or whichever muscial instrument makes him happiest........
Flute playing ace, thats great - and boss being away even better
Hand in date sounds better and stupid silly supervisors need to get thier heads out of thier harris's and help look over stuff - sending evil vibes to supervisors of all natures if they aren't actually nice.
Shetland is awesome, if you like Orkney you will LOVE SHetland its just so bonny and dramaticShetland for xmas would be amazing how long you thinking of going for.
I need to stress again that you are really really tired - way past stupid tired, way past silly tired you are probably at really ridiculus tired - so you need rest and lots of it
Huzzah to lots of being paid - plan your trip - give yourself something to look forward too after PhD land
Keep those feet up the takeaway will be delivered asap..........Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Yup, what she said, thats a horrendous list, CD....
And now .......I'm experimenting with the smileys, thanks Fay!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Oh my god, I did it! My diary is going to be *so* multicoloured!!!!!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks you stripey lot
And I'm still waiting for the takeaway - I'll expect it some time next week if it's coming all the way from up there!
I actually went to Shetland once for a dayOn my way to Orkney (I know, it's the wrong direction), on my own, with my bike
Cycled 30 odd miles, tried to stay in a fisherman's Bod thing but was too scared and had to decamp to a B&B
Nice man gave me lift back to ferry, and I camped in Orkney for a week
It was great
If we go it'll be for a couple of weeks I expect
Don't have a Wii (fortunately!) and Mr Daffs is generally too busy playing 'real' guitar for such things
Lol at thought of spending rest of life doing handstandI was planning on having a go at trapeze, but handstands forever seems rather dramatic. I know the reason for all this - (apologies again boys, if there are any!) - they've told me I've got Graves Disease, causing overactive thyroid, so periods been very light and pretty much non existent for months and months and months. I also have a copper coil, so thought lightness was a bit suspicious! And now my thyroid is being sorted out via all these tablets, it seems my hormones are being sorted out too, hence bleeding everywhere. It's probably not any worse than it used to be, but I'm not used to it any more!
Anyway, am more cheery now, thanksMr Daffs has 3 beautiful young women coming round in a bit (who he is a 4 part harmony singing dark folk band with), so I will be able to sneak off to bed early and listen to cheery songs about sex and death floating up through the ceiling as I drift off
And tomorrow I will send stern (but cheery) email to supervisors explaining exactly what I need from them and whenHooray!
Will pop in tomorrow for more stripey ness and to read a bit more what you're up to rather than just complaining about myself!
Daffs

Gosh Cheery Daff that sounds like a lot to deal with.
Although going to bed to sounds of lovely singing sounds like very good remedy!
I'm watching Gok on Ch4+1 and they've just taken pic of mountain rescue naked on top of mountain.I should get up mountains a bit more often!
I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Stripey ones at that for Cheery or should that be not so cheery daff! x x
I wore stripey socks under very sensible boots and trouser suit combo at work today although 1 sock was, I later found out, inside out as I have to get dressed in the dark!!
Dont suppose it matters? Maybe the stripeyness was impounded into me more?

2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!0 -
cheery daff, sorry to hear you're going through it, sounds like a bad mix of hormones and tiredness. You feel blobby cos every woman does at that horrible time of the month, i can certainly sympathise with the nothing for months then niagra falls it just brings you down to such a low.
OH didn't get the job, wanted to cry when i heard the message, and then had to tell him when he got home. Will struggle to face person who left the message when at work but will have to get over it won't i, and luckily i don't often see them.
think i have decided to try and take little steps each day to try and feel better about myself and then maybe i can stick to things such as my diet so i can lose the 6 stone i need to lose. This week my challenge will be to moisturise. sounds daft but i can never be bothered because it will not improve anything so what's the point?
love the smilies KC0 -
Urgh - poor you Cheery Daff. I suspect you're right when you say you're just not used to it anymore - and remember also that the amount you *actually* lose is very different (much less) than the amount you *look like* you lose. For what it's worth though I do agree with Fay - you need to head Doctor-wards just to put your own mind at rest and so you can be checked for anaemia too as that wouldn't help with the tiredness. I sympathise totally though - I had a month off my contraceptive patch a cople of months back and forgot what a total female-dog I am when I get PMT! (MrEH had forgotten too - he remembers again now though I can tell you!)
LT - I'l join you on your mini-challenge, I need to remember to make sure I cleanse and moisturise before bed every night so there you go - we're in this together! And it WILL make a difference too - if not now, then in 20 years or so!
