even if you were being 'independent' he could have offered to help or just forced his help onto you.

Yeah i know what you mean - I didn't see him for nearly 25 years - fault on both parts there - I am a bit too independant for my own good - then again I didn't know where he was except 'Canada' and my impression of pictures is that its quite big there so I woudn't havve been able to find him :D

I didn't mean to abandon him whilst he was in Canada it just kinda happenned - :rotfl:

    Morning all

Ta for all the support - stripey socks to the fore hoping to get some sections finihsed today. Oh and of course its inservice as well :).

Chev very deep and thoughtful words - I do appreciate them - I need to be more understanding - and a bit more patient - (you'd didnt say it - but I did appreciate your thoughts there - we all forget don't we when things aren't quite right that we don't sometimes act very rationally - so ta :).

We had another talk yesterday - he has self confessed that he's p**d his GF got a job and he didnt - deosnt think its fair so - hes going to look for a job here so she has to give her newly found job up and move here - and if shes that committed to him she needs to sort herslef out.

To be honest it sounds as if he's having a strop cos his gf got a job they both went for and he was outraged she got it over him. (I am not unsympathetic just not very good at teenage drama queens)

Ta chev re suggestion to show him the site, hes not interested in doing anything about his debts - maybe that will come? We all took a while to get to our LBM.........................Yes, and more to the point, he needs to come to the realisation himself doesn't he. That's the only way it will work.
Tried to say I was barely managing - he's not interested - 'well I'd like to barely manage in your life sis' fair point I suppose we have a nice life - just don't have 'much' suggested kind of response...."Perhaps you would, but I wonder how long before you'd get bored with not having money to spend on this and that - on the face of it it's a great life, and I wouldn't change it, but it's not as easy as you seem to think"
Tried very hard to listen and be sypathetic - hes only interested in himself and berating his GF - which isnt very nice to hear.

'You are rich in life he said - I want your life he said...
    .................'

To which I replied I worked hard for my life as this kind of life doesn't come on a plate - there are lots of sacrifices and limited choices and told him I was happy to help as much as possible but at the moment, my help was limited due to work committments. With more notice I could do better. I'll give you as much support as possible but I'm afraid that won't be financial - my first priortity has to be my kids and I need to clear my debts to be the best Mum I can for them"

Afer 25 years of my 'neglecting him and not caring for him ' (his words) he said 'Sis I think you owe me.' "I'm sorry you feel that way - I would have to disagree. I don't think it's reasonable of you to guilt-trip me over your feelings of neglect - that is not my responsbility"

    ?!?!?!?!

Some suggestions above in red......strikes me he's being a cheeky little burger attempting to make you feel guilty - no matter how "confused" he is over his own problems that is not down to you. He needs to understand that the thing your lives are richest in is love, not money, and that yes, you love your lives, but it's that love, and hard work, that makes your life the pleasure it is.

I will be crossing my fingers (and toes inside my spotty socks!) that things balance out for you ASAP and that the little wotsit goes back to the mainland and his long suffering GF sooner rathe than later.

If he didn't contact you either then he abandoned you too - oddly though, I don't see you throwing tantrums over it and claiming he owes you anything.....!

on a different topic i think i've just reached the heights of sadness.
I'm worried about what we owe on the leccy and that they'll increase our DD, and i think our consumption has risen since last year so i've set up a spreadsheet (yes another one!) which calculates the cost of what we've used at day and night rates and also takes into consideration the two day rates based on useage. Told you very sad and obsessive. I've 'explained' to OH that night is 5p per unit and day is 21p per unit to try and get him to realise why he should charge mobiles etc at night not during the day. Fingers crossed that it may just click one day. Please don't expel me cos i'm so sad, i have to say i'm chuffed to bits with it though. lol

Ho Ho! Sometimes I worry that I have a LOT to answer for! :rotfl: Actualy - you've got me thinking.....I might do a spreadsheet for ours too....hmmm! Do you have that first 125 units at the start of each billing period that is charged at a higher rate too?

Ooh, another thing for me to get to grips with. In the back of my diary, I write down the numbers on the gas and elec meters occasionally, and I've just started working out the average consumption between readings.... its gone way down recently, but I must have been letting it flow like water during that snow - they've just put my bill up by £5 a month, I'm in debt to them over £100, boo hiss.
