Waves to EH - I think you might be ?!!
I love my surrogate family (they adopted me) but my real family - um we don't havve much in common.
I am just I think very stretched at work/home already - don't have room in my head for anyone else's problems which might not make me a very good sister?
I am sounding more and more liek a terrible person!
Old sytle spag bog (with soya mince chucked in to stretch it out) for tea later as I am the provider of food
I am afraid my sympathies are with his poor OH who is sitting 300 miles away wondering what on earth is going on. Not a very good diplomat me.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Oh dear Fay!
How very selfish of your brother. glad you gave him what for. Good luck, you don't need this right now!
good luck with your deadline, they really are being super unhelpful! Bah!

and stupid computer playing up - back later. chin up!0 -
Lemontree, just reading about your dizziness, I've also got that and was diagnosed with Benign Positional Vertigo a couple of weeks ago, still not gone so now on the second lot of tablets (stemetil) and gonna be referred to an ENT specialist if it doesn't clear up in a week or two. Its horrible isnt it? Especially as you look normal and so people don't realise you're not feeling well and everyone seems to think you should carry on as normal (or is that just me?). I've been going to work, but find that that makes me worse as enclosed spaces make me really dizzy, think I'm going to take the day off tomorrow, get my eyes tested just incase that's causing it and spend the rest of the day in the garden as I don't have a problem when I'm outside without anything restricting my view iykwim
i know exactly where you're coming from, first doctor i went to see is sending me for blood tests saying it's 'general malaise' (two weeks before they could book me in) but went back a week later and i've got labrynthitus. I've been going into work as well, cept on friday when the room was spinning too much for me to be safe to drive, and mine is worse as the day goes on, but i'm sure they think i'm swinging it. I've been for an eye test recently but i have to say i was thinking that it was the refocusing on different things which was making it worse.0 -
hi fay, sorry to hear you've been landed with another family member, it's strange that they've just turned up out of the blue.
I've been inflicting the mince/soya mince mixed spag bol on hubby and he's tolerating it ok so far said the last batch was a bit different so may put less soya mince in the next one but it's certainly helping me to eek it out. Thanks for the idea.0 -
thing is when anyone is having an alleged mid life crisis their thought patterns aren't very clear. I guess your bro who turned up thought, no one will find me here we haven't spoken for 25 years. Not thinking that the first thing you are going to do , is phone his wife and let her know he is safe at least.
agree with other about your debts etc. be brutally honest about how much debt you have, and that you CAN'T and WON'T support him long term. Has he got a job to go back to or was part of the 'crisis' him losing it or giving it up?
And if he has debts, then drag him to the computer and make him look at this site, I can absolutely guarantee that someone on here has bigger debts than him, you only have to find mrscmr's diary to prove that!!
But i agree the timing absolute sucks, so well done to your other brother for taking him out of your hair a bit so you can try and concentrate on getting the work done.
All by the 15th the prooof readding suggestion still stands...Do you think they are setting you up to fail?
Good luck with fighting through it all. Stripiest socks to the fore!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

I ventured into civilisation yesterday, spotted a group of marauding yokels, burst out laughing and thought of you. It appears the latest teen trend is drainpipe skinny jeans with stripy knee high socks over the top. DD1 thinks its uber cool.
Good luck with meeting the deadline! I'm ready and waiting for installment #1.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Morning everyone:hello:
Fay,,,,Hope you are ok and not feeling too stressed re the sibling situation.I agree with Chev.....if he is having a mid life crisis he wont really know what's going on in his own head.
Glad your other brother is taking some of the stain.
Good luck with the deadlines....keep wearing the stripey socks and the rose quartz necklace and know that we are all here to support you when we can.
Love Mollypollyxxxx:happylove :happylove

Proud to be dealing with my debts at last :j0 -
Blimey, Fay, there *is* a lot going on. I do feel for you - family members are weird. My sister, whose husband died two months ago, has more empathy with my life situation than my mother - not only am I in debt, my business has gone down the tubes, I'm not reaching my weekly breakeven point at the moment - and what is my mother saying? "Why don't you take a taxi between (X) and (Y) - a trip of 40 miles". I got quite narked, especially as this was in front of my sister, who is now rolling in money thanks to all the pension payouts. *Completely* insensitive, I had to write pages about it in a journal to get it out of my head (and it hasn't quite gone, as you can see)....
best of luck with yours.

Morning all
Ta for all the support - stripey socks to the fore hoping to get some sections finihsed today. Oh and of course its inservice as well.
Chev very deep and thoughtful words - I do appreciate them - I need to be more understanding - and a bit more patient - (you'd didnt say it - but I did appreciate your thoughts there - we all forget don't we when things aren't quite right that we don't sometimes act very rationally - so ta.
We had another talk yesterday - he has self confessed that he's p**d his GF got a job and he didnt - deosnt think its fair so - hes going to look for a job here so she has to give her newly found job up and move here - and if shes that committed to him she needs to sort herslef out.
To be honest it sounds as if he's having a strop cos his gf got a job they both went for and he was outraged she got it over him. (I am not unsympathetic just not very good at teenage drama queens)
Ta chev re suggestion to show him the site, hes not interested in doing anything about his debts - maybe that will come? We all took a while to get to our LBM.........................
Tried to say I was barely managing - he's not interested - 'well I'd like to barely manage in your life sis' fair point I suppose we have a nice life - just don't have 'much'
Tried very hard to listen and be sypathetic - hes only interested in himself and berating his GF - which isnt very nice to hear.
'You are rich in life he said - I want your life he said....................'
To which I replied I worked hard for my life as this kind of life doesn't come on a plate - there are lots of sacrifices and limited choices and told him I was happy to help as much as possible but at the moment, my help was limited due to work committments. With more notice I could do better.
Afer 25 years of my 'neglecting him and not caring for him ' (his words) he said 'Sis I think you owe me.'

Sorry I sound like such a moaing minnie
I'd love to just make it all better for him - but if I handed everything I had on a plate to him I have a feeling all of a sudden the grass wouldn't be greener at all. IYSWIM
Sorry not explaining well - he's I think covetting the illusion of what we have and our life, not the reality of it.
Mind you giving away an ex - a whole load of debts and some report writing at the mo - not a bad plan
Onwards to wrok - catch you all in a bit xxTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
