    Hope everything is ok!

EH - I'm sure Fay said she was going to the mountain biking thing??? Was she taking Darwin??

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend despite the blooming rain. Luckily I have somehow managed to end up with 3 lovefilm discs at once? (bit complicated story) so have mega-viewing of The Wire planned!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

LOL @ Makeup's mega film-marathon. Dry here at the moment - but not looking to stay that way I don't think. MrEH has gone to rugby practise and I should be Flylady'ing - but am on here. Hmmm.....go figure! Cat sleeping on the windowsill - probably wondering why the sum has gone away and left her again. I realy must go and clean my kitchen.....*sighs*

EH i'm no good at flylady, i wish i was and the place would be sparkly but it's not going to happen.
I was off work sick yesterday, because of the room spinning and stuff (i've been diagnosed with a virus in my inner ear), it gets worse as the day goes on and the motion sickness tablets seem to wear out later in the day, so although we're suposed to be at a wedding reception we haven't gone cos i don't think it's very safe for me to drive.
I've been teaching myself to crochet flowers, they cost a fortune if you buy them for scrapbooking etc so thought in true MSE style i'd have a go myself. I've managed a few in stitching silks today and they look fab, but getting a little crochet hook turned out to be pretty expensive as we spotted some dining room chairs which were heavily reduced and were fab so of course they had to just jump in the car with us. At least we can invite more than one person round for dinner now!

Awww....poor you LT - that sounds nasty. It's a shame you're missing your night out too - I guess you can't even have a glass of something cold & crisp at home either if you're feeling a bit wobbly.

I'm not much good at Flylady either - once the place nis in a reasonable state I'm quite good at keeping it that way - but then something disrupts my routine and it all goes to pot again!

i don't drink anyway but we don't often get to go out and OH had to book annual leave from work for the weekend to guarentee we could go, but room spinning is just not fun so happy to stay indoors.
I very rarely get on top of this place, but often it's my crafting stuff which gets the place looking a mess, but i'm blaming the fact we're living in a one bed flat for the constant mess. I did managed to get decluttered not too long ago, but it's all down the pan again, though we did shove stuff in the shed etc so we could do a car boot and we've finally commited to a table top sale next sunday, and a car boot the second sat of our week off, after that i may just donate to charity. Had a mini sort out of crafting stuff this morning and have managed to sell £20 already to my mum's neighbour so that's a great start.
We bought some dining room chairs today, reduced of course, so i'm aiming to cover their cost from the car boots etc so i can stop feeling guilty (we did need them though, we only had 3 which we rescued from a skip about 5 years ago)

LOL - I sympathise re the chairs. Our current set (of four - go us!) were given to us along with a rather nice if fairly elderly table by a good friend. Previously to that we had an old table previously owned by my parents (it's now been returned to them and is back in use!), along with a pair of chairs bought from the thrift shop for about £4 the pair! Come to think of it, when we first moved in together we decorated and fitted out the front room (not incouding electrical products) for under £70 - including wallpaper, paint, curtains etc! Thank goodness for housewarming presents from parents & inlaws!

our dining room table was actually made by my great uncle, i even have his apprentice piece so they are both about 70 odd years old, one's been worn a bit more than the other but i couldn't bear to get rid of them. i'm really chuffed with the chairs though, even sad enough to think of making some calico covers so the cat's don't get them dirty cos i know i won't be able to keep them off them. they were a really good bargain though, ours were half price for each pair, OH thought we were only going to get 2 but i had to explain that as we'd waited so long to find the perfect ones we had to have 4 otherwise we were back where we'd started.

Yes - no sense in only buying two - that would have been a waste of money - whereas buying the full set is an investment! How lovely to have an "heirloom" table, and to know the history of it like that - one of those absolutely irreplaceable things.

very true, my mum has said that now it's officially mine (my great aunt died at 100 before christmas and i'd been looking after it whilst she was in a home) i could replace it with a newer table if i wanted to, but i wouldn't dream of it until we have a huge house with a massive dining room. then it will probably move into the huge kitchen that we'll obviously have in the huge house. Obviously the room spinning has literally gone to my head with all this talk of a huge house as we'll never be able to get one of them
