cheers for that. Am going to do some planning re the garden soon, well over easter and make a note of what i want and where I can put it, especially after you said things can grow in containers. Just had another thought, could beans and pease be grown up a trellis or an arch?

runner beans yes , peas dont grow that tall about 3 1/2ft so possibly a low trellis

I always aim low - find you get a better response that way

Well I am honoured oh decorated one - the only prizes I have ever won are for my teabread (2/3 malt whiskey) no figure eh? And my scones, pancakes, rhubarb and ginger jam and the 'first one back in her jeans after her baby award'.

Peas - mine grew upto about 5-6ft - so depending on which variety you have you'll be fine like HP said on a trellis - if you are growing peas and beans you can intermingle the both of them to get even growth up the arch or trellis and htey will look very pretty

I prefer french climbing beans to runners but you can grow a combination of anything like that together - as long as its all edible

Whilst I grow sweetpeas and runner beans together - I don't send out DD ot pick them cos sweetpea pods are posionous and she might be muddled up - so this year I am growing beans and peas together.

    Morning all

NO more elephants anywhere is there?

Found a dead rook in the garden yesterday as I was cleaning out the little hobbit house at the end of the garden - didn't freeze it thouh - turfed it over the wall.

Hobbit house is a wee shed/building thats wind and water proof - Piq I thought we could keep HP there when he's naughty and he can look through the peedie windows at me driving BRB round the garden.

the downside is they'd eat the grass which would make the BRB redundant!

True gardener here - think of the dung though!!

That would get you some prize leeks - :D

Hi All, sorry not been about. My toothache ended up being an abcess so had to get it pulled yesterday and my biopsy turned out to be the actual op (under local pain relief), so my face is absolute agony today. Smiling hurts, laughing hurts, eating hurts and I have the other part of my op next week.

Haven't caught up yet, how is everyone? What have I missed?
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

Hiary loan have stopped extra to this at the moment - I am not sure when I am being paid and its my first month back to no second lodger person so I am being a bit careful

Back to payment a day's soon though I hope when all the dust settles.

Joined the Grocery Challenge for April set a figure of £50 (milk, fruit, veg only)

May join the store cupboard challenge as I need a bit of inspiration. Meal planner for April almost sorted

Not expecting any major expenses this month aside my 6 month shop and some clothes probably - I need jeans, DD needs some bits DS needs trousers as his legs are becoming longer.

Work have OK'd expenses so Darwin is coming south with us - hurrah
