No but if we had the weather I guess all the islands would be overpopullated and over run with horrible hotels and fast food places.
In the mist and the rain - when even the midges don't come out - I guess there is a kinda of nice tranquility about the place.
And you are right - in the sunshine its absolutely gorgeous.xx

we give my lavender hedge the anne bolyn hair cut every year, never seems to do them harm
I love your huge garden so much bigger than ours0 -

Don't look at the weeds, lack of organisation or digging yet - I am posting this to shame myself into sorting it out and making a veggie garden plan. Hens live in the fruitcage to the back,, potting shed and greenhouse are on the left and the veggie garden is the picket fence bit - taken from out on the bedroom balcony bit from my room. Its a lovely tiny area which would be like a balcony in a flat so I might challenge myself to see what I can grow there in such a small space xx

LT I have to confess thats only one wee bit of the garden - its almost 2 acres I think.
Theres a huge paddock, a big grassy woodland area and a couple more formal flower gardens - hence why they asked their mug of a gardener friend to look after it (NOT that I am complaining I love it here)
Lavender loves a haircut - we can only grow it here as an annual really or take it indoors int he winter (same as lots of mediteranian plants) so I have to treat myself to one each spring time and grow it indoors in a pot - there are down sidesTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

We have midges already! way too early but I think we had some snow forecast for the weekend so hopefully that might kill the wee boogers off!
Farmers are spreading the fields round here today so smells lovely - not!
Thanks on the debt - if I can do it then there's hope for everyone.

One of the nicest things about living on Orkney compared with the west coast is that we only get Midges from late July til Sept - its lightweight compared with elesewhere in socltand which I do remind them constantly when they moan about the midges - they don't know they are born up here.
