Peedie update
Lodger gone, gulp - but new one starts in a week (losing c£500 quid a month, gaining £300 (new chap) but - no food for new chap, and he's likely to be less hard on electricity etc, so its hopefully going to not be too scary with meal planning kicking in and hopefully the grocery spends being a bit less)
More off the scary hairy loan lodger girls money still to pay to it this month so soon it shoyld be under 1000 - whopp whoop whoop
Car tax to pay (left overs from the shetland trip so its covered but it still stings)
Taking leaf out of the lovely Piq's book (ie blatantly stealing her idea) will add up the car tax/insurance and some maintenance and divide it up to 12 and put some away each month (grown up or what????!!!!!)
Plant some more stuff later check seedlings
Meal planner later - OK this does work (??!!!!!) - still grumpy about it - so might take it down to 5 days and have 2 crazy no meal planner days.
HOWEVER HAVING PLANNED MY SHOPPING FOR 6 MONTHS (AND BEING EXCITED ABOUT GOING AWAY AND STICKING TO A BUDGET)- I NEED TO STOP WHINING AND EMBRACE THE SAVINGS AND THE WARM FUZZY FEELING OF FEELING LIKE I AM ACTUALLY LEARNING TO BE BETTER WITH MONEY
Greener april.........
This month coming I want to seriously look at our plastic/packaging consumption we have already:
dumped using plastic milk bottles and gone to those paper 1ltr ones
reuse any squash/water bottles for stock etc
trying to use plates to cover things and sealed boxes instead of clingfilm
Bigger bags of stuff to reduce the amount of packaging (even ds is going to big bags crisps and filling up smaller one for school - bless)
Aiming to not need any carrier bags in April - I have a bazzillion reusable bags, from now on if I dont have one with me - I use a box or I don't shop at all.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Morning Fay, any debt busting plans for the weekend or are you playing in the garden?
L
Hi L - debt busting
Going to sow more seeds to sell some plants
Waiting to hear about the arrival of the new hens (2) - their contribution to debt busting will be eggs - slug consumption and of course the postive energy factor.
Move desk up to the new lodger chap room, rummage in the attic for kettle, extra pots and pans and try not to spend ANYTHING sorting out the room
My landlord is here - so I need to look mega active outside and start to make the place sparkle - top dressed a flower bed with leaf mould last night - dah dah now it looks all sparkly. Need to more of those things
Wood to get from the farm (free) to start making a wood store for later this ear and next year
Woodchip to get from the farm too (free ish - bartered for a bit gardening) to rechip a path in the garden.
So some playing outside - some organising inside to make the lodger room ready and to get the garage/cupboards ready for my big 6month shop
Aside from that just feet up and a bit of telly (I wish):DTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

...the only problem with jumping up and down like a mad lady, is the wobbly bits carry on jumping for a full half hour after I've stopped....
I've never been able to stand on my head, not even when I was six, so I shall remain, pale, saggy, spotty and wrinkled...Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Yeah I find sports tops and a well fitting decent bra doesn't help either - maybe I should just stay still. Less dangerous.
Good plan.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Sorry about the meal planner working, I know I forced you into trying it
:rotfl:
Once a month I put in a takeaway on my planner and often put a ready made pizza on the list, just 'cos I like them!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

You see now I like that idea better.
If I am *allowed* a takeaway - I am very partial to anything with rocketing blasting chillis and king prawns I may like this planner thing better:D
We have added a 'bitsa' night now (bits of this and bits of that all on the table its brillinat) easier now that Lodger boy is away (not so rigid now as I didn't liek to make two things so we all had what he was having - so I am feelign really sluggish from all the meat - not that anyone forced us to have it)
And we will do a use-it-up-week - like your store cupboard challenge.
My prob is I like to shop for food - so maybe I need to go back to the old fashioned 'buy locally fruit/veg bread once/twice a week' or just get over it!!
If I do my mega shop for £300 - for my store cupboard stuff, toiletries etc so works out at about £50 a month - then I can realistically cut the groceries down as well.
I have to say like SM I do enjoy the batch cooking. Much easier to grab out something homemade and its hot in minutes - and this be much easier if I am allowed a meal planned takeaway. Hurrah.:D
PS BTW - Mirco fibre cloths do indeed rock and make everything very shiney.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Morning All, was at dentist's again yesterday. Very deep filling but its feeling better. A little painful today, can feel where the needle went in.
I used the 2 for 1 voucher (courtesy of MSE) for Wagamama's yesterday. It was lovely. Also made donation of a fiver (felt bad as wish it could have been more but car is going back into garage) to a good cause. Saw story in Daily Mail online the other day where a little girl was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, they started raising money for treatment abroad (no treatment here for children) and her cousin was diagnosed with the same. Have experience of this and its nasty. So wanted to do my bit.
I too need to attack my lavender, its got quite woody. Rose bushes pruned back and my Holly bushes.
Oh bridesmaid dress is bought too!
Fay, look out for a parcel.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0
