Morning All, car's playing up again . What was supposed to be fixed hasn't and I'm trying politely to say to garage its their mistake so they can pay for it. Nothing major but still, last thing I need.

Very brief update, I'm supposed to be working, but not in the mood

I was chatting down at the yard last night about the state of my garden and how I was looking for some help... and a couple of folks volunteered!!! for the heady price of pizza and wine. Provisionally, we're looking to tackle it the second week of Easter! The folks down there know about my shoulder and arm problems as that's where the accident happened in the first place. Nobody forgets the air ambulance.....

Thats great Piq! I take it it was a bad accident? I had a really bad accident a few years ago too, my right arm got most of it. I have various little gadgets around the house to help out. Including a stand for my hairdryer so my arm doesn't tire which it does easily.

Morning! I'm just admiring the pix that SM put up - lovely plan for the food producing area, SM, and is all that lawn yours? Wow ... thats a *lot* of land.

If it was "mine" personally karma cat it would have been dug up by now:rotfl: It is the communal inner garden at the scheme where I am manager (and live).

Hope you are all having a lovely day :D

2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Piq - great news (apart from the air ambulance bit)

WAVING FURIOUSLY BACK THROUGH THE DRIZZLE - AND THE RAIN.

Just out of meeting - so will catch up properly later.

SM - car tyres - perfect for growing potatoes in and easily dissembled at end of season if you have access to any - can plant 3-5 potatoes in one car tyre stack.

Put two car tyres together (on top of each other)- fill with compost/old growbags/soil then plant potatoes - when tatties are about 6"-1ft tall add another tyre and top up- repeat again if you want and then you get lots tatties at the back end for about zero effort.

    recycle next year.

after admiring and being jealous of other folks gardens i have my own good news.
Yesterday i was made an associate member of my professional body - yay! and they didn't even query anything from my record of experience as i'd expected they would. :j :j :T :j
  • Peedie update

Hurrah - another bit off the loan and the dd''s have gone out and I am sailing close to the wind but not as yet sunk this month again.

Lease to finalise today with new chap so will only have one week of no income from the room - but as there is payment in arrears from the first chap that means that 'technically' no stop in income.

Nothing much else to report - trying hard with food budget - cut it down by £50 this month - and I know we are still pretty inefficient.

Need to seriously chuck some money at camper van interior as two pals now wish to 'borrow/loan/lease' it for a week each and are happy to contribute to extra insurance and to give us a 'contribution' as 'rent' for the week they use him - I said not to bother but got told they'd like to ask again if they can so wanted to offer something.

They suggested £100-150 for the week (plus petrol, extra to the insurance and a clean afterwards)- what do folks think of that?

Seems alot to me for something that would just be sitting there?

I want to say don't be silly - but one pal pointed out that it would help cover tax/insurance/upkeep.

Only tomato seeds germinated so far - need to sow tonnes more.

Landlord up at the weekend - which always makes me nervous but sure all will be OK they are around for a week. gulp. At least I can find out more about what is happenning.

meal planning works so far. We had a blip last night when lodger didn't want fed to rather than waste a whole tea for 6 on us - I froze it and we all had a 'bitsa tea' - bit of this and bits of that - quite fun.
