Thanks for that UNI x - xx
I have posted on the OS board - very scary as not posted on there much before - this is my comfort zone - anyway - I will be probably looking to stock up (you see Piq lpanning eh??) for 4-6 months when I am away in the wonderland of shopping ness that is civilisation.

Wondering what's good to stock up on - I have a vague idea of what we might use, but ideas gladly welcome.
Have put aside a decent bit of Shetland money for this so I can try and reduce our overall monthly spends on food.

Big, big bags of pasta v cheap in Asda.
Try Chinese or Asian supermarkets for rice & other oriental goodies (but check rice price on line 1st with Asda as they can be cheap as well.
I was amazed when I visited Orkneys by all the wee sideways growing treesA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

We specialise in these types of trees - kids call them 'halflings' cos it only looks as if we have got half-a-tree
Ta for the tip - getting excited now about being south and going shopping - lol - xx
Pasta has gone up so much hasnt it - DD always gets a PASTA-BOX for her birthday and xmas - started as a tradition when we were very poor (still is a tradition) and its now quite a cost to make one for her. But I'd get shot if I didn't do one:D and we all get to eat it anyway - decent pasta box will usually last 2-3 months. (she eats alot of pasta)

Hi Fay - just thought I'd pop over and let you know my copy of 'The thrifty gardener' has come via the library. I think I'm more hoping I can look like the author when I've read it than anything marvellous happening to my garden :rotfl:

GC : must do better

Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0
