sorry entered it twice so have deleted this onel“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

90's recession it seemed like every 3rd house was up for sale in some areas. It took longer for me to get a job but I did get work. Many people were handing their keys to the building society and just moving out. I know a friend at work with a good IT job that did just that because of high interest rate. Did not notice many household names going bust like it is happening now.
2000 IT drop all my friends were either looking for work, redundant or just about to be made redundant. I got another job at a much much lower wage & many friends had to do the same.“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

What about house prices going up by 1-2% last month???? Is is just people returning to buying after Christmas? I think so..“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

You only look at yourself you selfish little tyke.
Now get doing some work. No wonder we are in this mess when all the financial sector spend all day talking about financial doom on the net.:rotfl:
Wow, you are having a bad day aren't you?
What's up? Migraine, 'time of the month' (?), indigestion?
You can be so rational, nay witty some days, and on others, like today, you go out of your way to be rude.0 -
I am sorry about your job mate but some companies are still growing.
I'm quite happy to be leaving - I haven't been enjoying it at all. Its a good chance for me to do things I want to (kitesurfing!).Like I said 90% will still be employed unfortunatly this time it is the people who thought they were untouchable who are bearing the brunt (the financial sector) and the current mess shows how untouchable the financial sector thought it was.
Financial crises tend to be much worse than normal recessions - thats why I think this one will be well worse than any recession since the 1970s. And Britain will be worst hit in Western Europe... well maybe second after Ireland... we shall see.0 -
