I can't remember if I posted in this thread earlier but since things have changed I'll post anyway.:o
I have multiple sclerosis, still mobile (just) but really starting to struggle again, my husband has type 1 diabetes, luckily he's got none of the complications so far but he's going through a rough time with depression. The light at the end of the tunnel is just starting to appear thankfully :j
We also care for our 4 children. The middle son has ADHD, ASD and ODD so at 15 he's a handful at the moment, I'm hoping he settles down a bit before he's old enough to get a job or he won't have one for long.
Our eldest son is 16 and also has ASD and ADD, the poor lamb has a load of other problems that seem to be unrelated. He has cataracts removed when he was 6 and has had complications from that where he had needed more surgery to remove scar tissue that was affecting his vision, this is ongoing and will need more surgery. His latest diagnosis is BXO (also know as lichen sclerosus), he was circumsized at 10 years old because of this and we hoped that would be the last of it, apparently in a lot of cases it is. His luck isn't that good and he's just had surgery to clear the urinary tubing and, according to his consultant, is facing years of surgery that could include reconstruction. Basically his body attacks and forms scars along the urinary system which then block it up and need to be cleared. Not pleasant and to help keep things clear he will have to self-catheterize himself, since his motor skill aren't great I'm getting lessons on how to do it for him
Thanks for letting me whinge, hubby won't talk about the BXO or catheters as the subject makes his eyes water :rotfl:0 -

(hypercondriac) but you lot seem a lot younger than her. I have aliments to but choose to shut my mouth about them. I'm not one for talking about them, it must be a typically female thing, you obviously gain from speaking about them.
we are all here to support each other every day in cyberland, some of us can't go out when we choose to, some of us have lost friends because they don't understand why we are ill.
suggest you sod off, with your crass comments, supportive we are, hypochondriacs oh we wish we were, but we are sadly for you not.
don't forget to pick your spam up on your way out, there's a good chapLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
Looking after OH, his health deteriorated after nearly dying 4 yrs ago. Has Neuropathy in right leg. He has gone from a workaholic sportsman to a virtually wheelchair bound frustrated depressed shadow of his former self. In continual pain and very limited in what he does. We decided when I had to give up work, to live life how WE wanted. As he sleeps only a couple of hours a night then crashes out about once a fortnight for 4 hours we work round it. He is trying very hard to support me! because that works for me - ahh the male ego lol. But yes despite some terrible times with no income from November till February ( good old DSS) we got through. As I always say 'after everything life has thrown at me I am still standing" tho must admit the DSS nearly defeated my Dunkirk spirit.Clearing the junk to travel light

I was born with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC) which affects bones and muscles, and ive got arthritis as well which makes it hard to walk and causes me a lot of pain. Ive also got hypertension and I had to have a kidney removed a few years ago as it had shrivelled up and was full of stones. Anyone else got AMC on here? My o/h has tendinitis in his shoulder and chest pains on the same side, but the drs dont know whats causing that.0

How dare you, i think its time you got reported for your nasty posts,
you don't know me personally or anyone else here so please don't embarrass yourself with the trash you type, sick or not sick, there is no need to be so nasty, unless your here just to wind people up.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
Why do you feel the need to pick up on EVERYTHING you feel people are doing wrong, or not to your liking?! If you don't like it, LEAVE! No where does it say "you must not quote posts from more than one week ago" And, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. You seem very immature.0

warm hello to all, sorry to read such negativity from certain people.
I have a dd with hydrocephalus, brain damage who has learning difficulties and possibly on the ASD spectrum. Love her dearly though.....0 -
update to this post
Saw son's consultant today to get the results from his latest surgery and scan, apparently it's not as bad as they'd feared and he'll only need to use a partial catheter once a week to keep the end of the urethra open so much much better than we'd been told :j
fingers crossed he doesn't spring another new problem on us for a long long time.
Nice to have some good news for once :T0 -
