Well, I am sat here crying my eyes out!! You guys are so brave.. I wasnt going to mention my probs (nowhere near as bad as most on here) but I think its good to know someone else has the same and maybe we can help each other out at times.

    I have
Crohns, treated with Aza, Vit b2 injections, pain killers and strict diet (or i should if i didnt like my food as much!) going for more hospital tests within 4 weeks. Had part of bowel removed in 2003 and will need it again this year probably.Just came off Pred and put on a stone!! Now really really tired all the time, sick of it!
    IBS treated with Buscapan
Lower back problems, physio and painkillers
    Depression....

Thanks for sharing your problems everyone, your brilliant! xx

i am a carer for my twin sons, who have severe ADHD, suspected autism, and learning difficulties, having had no help or respite, i have lost all my confidence, and suffer from depression and anxiety.
I feel for you. Make sure you get confirmed diagnosis for autism, that way you will get the correct money, medication and education for your boys.

I have someone coming from Carers UK next week to visit me, and my fingers are crossed I can get some respite. Its really hard and embarrassing living in a building site, people don't understand what its like to clean food off the walls all day every day. I don't have carpets anymore as I can't afford to keep replacing them. I feel bad whinging about it, I love my son, but I just wish the government would take notice of how carers suffer. The council told me a placement for my son IF they could find one would cost £235,000 a year, yet they give me carers allowance of £57 and £17 a week Income support. You don't get to dress up and feel good about yourself with money like that.

I've got spondilolisthesis grade 4 and have had a spinal fusin of L4, L5 and S1. I then had to have the metal work removed due to nerve pain and ended up with a bone graft and horrible infections and more surgery. Still got constant nerve pain all down my right leg and constant back pain, in the process of getting a second opinion but think there's very little they can do know - which is not what you want to hear at 36! As my consultant so nicely put it i've got 'derranged anatomy'.
Also think I might be on the edge of losing it, in the last 12 months i've been in hospital for 2 operations, my brother died, my mum died and my father-in-law died, my grandad became really ill and I had to get him in residential care, my daughter needed grief counciling, my husband is being treated for stress and depression and he's just been made redundant...
    Life just keeps on giving!!!

Because if you read the thread it was asking what disabilities people had.
Sometimes it is a good thing to know that there is someone else out there that shares with you.
  • I don't see everyone moaning about their disabilities!! The thread is what it says "What is your illness"

If you don't wish to talk about yours then don't, but don't berate anyone that does including women.

What on earth gives you the right to wander over here and be rude to people talking about their disabilities, we're not moaning, we're not asking for sympathy, we're simply sharing what it is that is disabling to us. This is the disability board... Isn't it?! It's not a choice we've made to have these issues, and I am certainly not 75! I'm 17, and female (what year do you think this is?) disability doesn't choose by age who's life to disrupt!
