Gneiss, Am I right in thinking this was a council installed Nibe unit? Not the same model as the thread Cardew refers to. Sounds like the solar thermal is undersized/not done well either...

    Cheers
    Hi JJ

Don't know what size Gneiss's ST system is but if it's pretty new you'll need to factor in the generally poor irradiation we've had so far this year ... I can easily understand how a typical twin flat panel system could be seen to be 'giving just enough hot water' .....

Can anyone tell me how to reactivate the 'auto' operating mode on the nibe fighter 360p?

I had a heating engineer guy out to 'service' the boiler etc and explain how it works. He set it onto 'auto' and it changed to summer mode. I was showing my partner when he came home from work and scrolled through the winter, spring/autumn, summer and auto setting. It went off onto winter but now it says 'auto' but it's still staying on winter and not changing itself to summer mode. I have no idea why. I can't see another option for 'auto'.

    Any suggestions?

[Perhaps it is being used sensibly in a well insulated and sealed property with sensible ventilation arrangements?]
  • Hi, Im looking at getting a heat pump for my home and have had lots of varying quotes ! Do you have any views on the Panasonic Bi Bloc high temp system, also been quoted for a Samsung, Mitsubishi and Daikin, desperately need some guidance please..

Hi sandiej12, the Panasonic Aquarea bi-bloc HT is a good system, high temp is 65 max, uses R407c refrigerant as opposed to R410a, Mitsubishi an Daikin are First and second choice for quality, reliability but are more expensive than the Panasonic, but I would rate the Panasonic kit a close second, they have 46 products to choose from, which puts them in close competition against Mitsubishi, Daikin, much better IMO than the other 40 odd manufacturers of heat pumps.

I take it this to be fitted in an off gas grid house....? Well insulated?

    Hi there,

Just wondered if any installers or others out there had any news about the RHI for air to water domestic heat pumps. We jumped through all sorts of hoops to get our MCS Certificate just in time for the RHPP payment (first phase), expecting the RHI payments to start soon afterwards. I understand the date's been put back (twice) and I haven't heard any more lately.

Realistically, is this going to happen?

RHI would have been the icing on the cake but from all my dealings with DECC/EST they seem to be all over the place! Personally I think the RHI scheme will die a slow death so am not expecting anything indeed till I saw this post forgot about it ;)
