Worst: Kayenta (Arizona i think) Drove 2 days to get there and it was literally a sh*t stain in the desert where you couldn't even buy a beer.
Literally a sh*t stain! You visited an actual sh*t stain? Extraordinary.

Kayenta is awful but, in Monument Valley, is close to one of the most incredible places on Earth to be fair!

The last post was funny, so I thought I'd have a look on wikipedia. It's a navaho area, where it's illegal to serve alcohol. It's a poor area too, as you'd expect given the population.

I don't think you should give it a hard time based on that.

To be fair to montreal i'm sure it's beautiful in the summer months.
did this as part of a NYC / boston / montreal / toronto / niagara falls road trip, so was comparing it to those cities (which are all better!)

As as for the comment about the USA (disney with guns)... !!!!!!... visit it. the people are the friendliest you'll ever meet. don't base your opinion on loud obnoxious americans that visit london and the 2 minute news snippets of the local "loner" who once a year goes on a shooting spree!

Best. Cairo & the whole of the Nile valley
Worst. Zante. Yes I know there are nice parts but, on the whole the drunken brits spoil it. I love Greece & have been to many Greek islands but for me it was just souless.
  • Tenerife is appearing on alot of peoples worst places to go,WHICH is a real shame, obviously these people do not go to where I visit, where as a winter sun destination it is quite lovely. OK los christianos, las americas are not good, but come on folks, there are other places to stay in Tenerife, yes theres not masses of culture etc but,not all of it is horrid!
