Being a florist myself I know that red Roses on valentines are ridiculously priced in a Florist shop but there are alternatives - ask your Florist to do something special within your budget - there are hundreds of different flowers that are just as nice a Roses - even hundreds of different variety of rose (it's only the price of red that goes up) - they'll be happy to accomodate and then you get to give your love interest something more thoughtful and personal rather than unimaginative cheap tatt!

This year I would love a bunch or two of tulips from my OH. I hope that he gets some from the market or similar for £1.50 per bunch, as it seems silly for him to spend a fortune on something which is going to die and end up in the bin no matter how much you spend! Might as well buy a bunch of roses for a fiver, then spend the rest on a piece of jewellery which you're going to have forever. Plus to me tulips always looks gorgeous no matter what, and once they're in a vase you can't tell where they came from. Might just be me though!
Also, I'd never buy from a shop where the owner thought I was a 'cheapskate' for buying flowers from a supermarket - how snobby do you want to be?! :mad:D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -
I agree that Morrisons is good value and quality. I buy my mum roses every year because its her birthday near Valentines Day. Morrisons roses are always consistently good and last!!!
The last time I ordered her flowers by courier they arrived and didn't look as good as I thought they would and the stems were short. At least if you buy them yourself you can choose the best ones.
They are normally around £5 for 12 which I think is excellent value but they do normally have larger head roses that are a bit more expensive.

I know its not the cheapest, but Flowersdirect are doing 12 red roses for £19.99. Theres a £4.99 charge for postal delivery, so thats £22.48 overall with the 10% discount code of PVALJ11. The bouquet is called Simply Valentines.
Ive gone for them, but they are also doing a florist flower delivery promotion that with code FDJAN11 that gives you free delivery (-£5.99) on Valentines flowers by florist.
