"... and a baby on the way ..." oh dear, you are not exactly helping yourselves are you.
To have £1,000 a month coming into your home seems rather a good start to me, and to say you "get no help at all" is surely not right - all those tax credits and child benefits for a start.
You may be shocked and worried, but a big part of the answer must be to look at yourselves, your lifestyle and expenditure. To be able to afford standing bills etc of £2,200 a month puts you in the £35k+ salary bracket ....
Thats really really helpful ..... not. I might suggest that if you have nothing useful to contribute that you butt out !0 -
I have already looked into the help by them that say they will give familys help ! and we do not qualify for any , as I have been told today with my partner working more than 24hrs per week its down to her to support me ! out of the 22 years that i have worked , I have had 14 mths in which i have had to claim benefits . this is what you get for over 20 years of paying tax and NI . A big that NOTHING !!!0

Maybe had my former employer not have terminated my employment contract due to ill health , causing me a 15% disability with a lung diesease , then not thinking to inform me for over a month they had done so , then not bothering to send forms that my insurance companies sent to claim on PPI's the amount paid out would be a lot lower !! so far there actions have cost us almost £3000.00 in charges and interest , which I am fighting to claim back ! as for tax credits , they have just been stopped and need to make a new claim , that may take upto 6 weeks !0

Mortgage Interest should be scrapped for anyone who had the chance to take out a policy but didnt.
I dont really see why I am sneding tax money to the banks both as a bail out and to help those that got into debt pay their mortgage.0 -
i would agree ! why should the tax payer bail out the banks ! they got them selves in to this mess. But been a tax payer for over 20 years and payin my NI contributions , when you ask for help from the benefits agency you get sweet !!!!!! all ! and most PPI's only last for a year , and that as ran out !0

If you have PPI's, surely at least one will be for mortgage payments anyway?0 -
that ran out 3 months ago ! and what did not help was my former employer not returning the documents back ! they did the same on my credit card PPI , i applied for that on 4/8/08 , it took axa until march 09 to pay out cos they could not get a reply from them.0

Mortgage PPI usually runs for 2 years from 2 months after the claim. When did you claim?0

My PPI was taken out with my mortgage from Natwest . it was started in feb 08 when I came out of work with breathing problems , that has since been diagnosed as a occupational asthma which as left me with a 15% disability, the cover only covered 12 mths only which was 7 mths sickness and 5 mths of unemployment,0

Any one know what the interest rate will be set at for the mortgage payment scheme when it is reviewed? Also when is it changing?
Sods law as soon as I am eligiable it will be peanuts, due to the low interest rate, not much help, when your on a fixed rate.Pawpurrs x0
