I'm looking for a budget 1080p lcd hdtv for my bedroom, mainly for gaming, but with a little tv use, preferably larger than 19'' and in the 25-300 range or thereabouts. Can anyone suggest anything?
Take your pick from the Tesco e-bay outlet - got a 22" Sony for £275 or a technika 22" for £120

or the Argos e-bay site:
They have Sony, Sharp, Samsung and Panasonics in your price range.

I'd go for this from Richer Sounds http://www.richersounds.com/product/lcd-tv/samsung/le32b350/sams-le32b350
We bought one as it was really cheap £275 with 5 year warranty and we needed a new bedroom TV.
Just imagine our surprise when our kid hooked up the PS3 and it gives you the option to play in 1080p!! PS3 looks absolutely stunning - has game mode too.
That is my recommendation HTH0 -
Now £688!
Dixons were selling them for £688, so Amazon must have dropped the price to compete, lets hope it drops again!
Back up in price again at Currys.
Robert Whyte were doing them with a free 5 year warranty for £659, I think. Richer Sounds will price match and beat by a tenner (they price match online stores and include the warranty).0 -
I think Richer sounds is one of the lower priced ones now, £699 last time i checked.0

Small LCD TV available from Aldi this weekend.

I'm decided that I want a TV with USB PVR. I don't care that I can have a standalone DVD recorder, USB PVR just seems so convenient. But at the moment a wish for USB PVR, as well as general unwillingness to spend too much, limits me to the cheaper end of the market.
Someone further up the thread described the Dixons el cheapo LCDs as being "magnificent". Including a link to this which appears very good value for money being a 26" for £199. http://www.dixons.co.uk/gbuk/digitrex-ctf2685-26-hd-ready-lcd-tv-04439941-pdt.html#tab-tech-specs
The Tesco own brand, Technika I think, also has USB PVR. The advantage of the Tesco on is very quiet unobtrusive switch on to PVR recording, while the disadvantages are said to be low quality speakers and sound.
Any comments on how the ALDI, Dixons, and Tesco TVs compare as to unobtrusive PVR recording mode, picture quality, sound quality, and reliability?
Hmmmm....... All of them appear to be only 720p, and have a single tuner. They are at the cheaper end of the market, but maybe this means I should continue waiting.0 -
Hi, Ebays deal of the day today is a 42" Full HD LG TV
Goto ebay home page to get the link. Looks ok for £364.990 -
We're buying a new tv next week, but not sure whether to go for plasma or lcd. I've read all the posts on here, and my head's buzzing now!:rotfl:
Can anyone recommend something decent? We're looking for 40/42 inch max. Will mainly be used for watching sports on SD and hopefully HD, and playing the xbox. Hoping to spend less than £400 if possible.
Would have gone for the one posted by kintheuk, but unfortunately we won't have the money until next week.
Thanks in advance.:money:0 -
