  • Hi

I used Blinds.net.uk for white wooden venetian blinds in my sons house. The product is middle of the road okay - you gets what you pay for - so I wouldn't criticize the quality.

However, customer service is another thing! We had them delivered to my house, as my son and DIL work all day. Got an email advising on date (only provided all-day slot) and only half the order turned up - no note of this on delivery note!

I tried to contact the company and you can only do this via a web-based contact facility (apparently, it's in the terms and conditions you sign when placing order).

Took ages but eventually got email saying rest of order would be another 10-15 days. As I was due to go on holiday, I have to use the online feedback to tell them that order would have to go to different address if it was after a certain date.

I could go on for ages but suffice to say, the courier company were much more help than Blinds.net whose refusal to actually deal with my problem(s) via phone or direct email turned what should have been a simple task in an epic. So I would advise against using this company at all costs (based on my personal experience only)!

Regarding faults, we had one blind where the pelmet was shorter than the blind (despite having a label with the correct measurements on both blind and pelmet (which also had a paint blemish).

Again, using the laborious feedback facility, we had to take photos of all item to "prove" the faults but I have to admit that we eventually got it replaced.
  • I have used this company twice for vertical blinds. Product is excellent quality for the price and on both times delivered the next day (8am) as advertised. If you measure accurately - they give precise details on their easy to use website - the blinds fit perfectly and much better than any similar product that you would buy from B@Q or Argos and have to cut yourself.
  • Blindsuk.net is an absolute nightmarish company to get hold of. Our blinds arrived with faults AND plastic pullers instead of metal (we paid an extra £5 each for these).

Customer service states sending in pictures...err no...you sent the wrong stuff now replace.

    Useless.

As the order was over £100 I will cancel with my credit card company if they do not action ASAP.

If you are reading this blindsuk...call me re consignement PD1373
  • Err..now they want me to send pictures off the pulls to show that they had got them wrong.

  • I have just had a nightmare experience with blindsuk.net
I ordered vertical blinds for my fathers house, a total of 7 windows.
First of all the order was delayed because they had moved factory premises.
Then the order arrived, all the headrails were ok, but the slats were the wrong length and not the right amount (they sent 61 instead of 71)
I was advised to send them back and they would be measured by the factory, if they were found to be incorrect they would be replaced.
However, if found to be the correct length and amount they would be sent back as is, and I would have to bear the cost of post and packaging.

They went back on the 26/11/2010 and I waited till the 1/12/2010 before I asked for an update.
On the 6/12/2010 I was advised that the vertical slats had been checked, and despatched to my address.
Surprise, surprise, this time around they got only one set of 12 slats wrong (not only the wrong length, but also 11 slats instead of 12)

Then they asked for photographic proof ... unbelievable !!!
In the meantime I had found another seller on the internet that were an absolute joy to do business with blindspares.webeden.co.uk
    The total opposite of blindsuk.net

I decided to cut my losses with blindsuk.net and take my custom to blindspares.webeden.co.uk :T

    Summary of blindsuk.net
    1. Very poor customer services.
    2. Contact is only by a web interface and is checked once a day.
    3. Shoddy workmanship (stitching on the vertical slats had 4-5 inches of extra material hanging off the sides)
    4. Despite repeatedly being told that they had not sent the right amount of vertical slats, they managed to get it wrong again on the second attempt.

I obviously would not recommend them to anyone looking for a quality product complete with decent customer services.
  • I also ordered some blinds for my front window, they got the measurements correct however when you pull the blinds up they fall down again as a small part was missing that trapped the cords. Also as another poster has pointed out no instructions were supplied.

After lodging my complaint was told to send photos which I did, the missing part arrived some days later but it was not for the blinds I was supplied by them.

I’ve now sent them a letter (not fit for use)… given them ten days to send correct part or I will send them back and claim all my costs (that’s postage and photos).

They have a telephone number on their web site but its no good ringing it as the young lady merely asks you to email them which I did and the reply would indicate to me that whoever wrote it has no knowledge of blinds at all… that’s why they ask for photos.

I get the impression that this company are intermediaries for another much further up the chain.

    They are not cheap either.
  • wow am i glad i saw these postings was literally just going to order some in the next few mins

Just in case anyone is still finding this after searching on blindsnet.uk (as I just have), I can confirm the problems are still continuing!

After waiting a MONTH (so not the 7-10 days advertised), the blinds eventually arrived and they are the wrong colour. They are also frayed at the seams.

    AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Whats your problem with sending them photos?

They just want verification that what you say is true!
  • I ordered on 07/09/11 (quoted 7-10 working days for a bespoke blind).
Today 30/09/11 - I am still waiting. I've chased via the 'customer service' email system (I use the term customer service very loosely in this instance) & I am pretty certain I am receiving a scripted response. Delay as the factory is overworked is one response. I chased again 27/09 & I was told 2-3 days (I'd threatened to come pick it up from their factory) but now I am still waiting for the mysterious email telling me its been dispatched!

I chose them as they are in the same county as I am (approx 40miles round trip for me), don't I feel the fool not checking the company out b4 placing my order! (sigh, good old hindsight again).

So I can confirm that I will not be using them again (I've just quoted the The Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 at themin yet another chase up email). Not supplied in the timeframe originally agreed.
