Have no idea what they are
Hmmm...I wonder if having one would really help me or not...

I have a baby who goes in a sling on my back and a 3yo who holds my hand/'helps'.
I use the car to shop as we are 7 miles from the shops and usually use supermarkets as there are no small food shops here, although I sometimes go into town for errands.

    What do you think?

    Well that's a tricky one.

In my view a shopper could be a great help to you, depending on your specific circumstances.

If you have to haul bags any distance from shop to car and car to kitchen while managing your 3yo and the baby then yes, a shopper would be a single bag which stows into the boot and can be pulled with one hand, leaving the other free for your little ones. When managing keys etc the shopper will stand without you having to worry about putting down and picking up shopping bags, with the inevitable spills if you use carrier bags.

You could also use it to store all the items needed when out with your children, just put the bag you normally carry their things in into the shopper so it can be pulled out when you pack your shopping and popped back into the top of the shopper for the homeward journey.

The single greatest benefit of a shopper is that it saves your arms and back from the strain of carrying heavy loads of shopping. You will see from some of the posts above that Rolsers are well though of. That isn't just because they come in great designs, their main benefits are that they are stable and very, very easy to manage. They really can make an amazing difference.

Take a kerb straight and a Rolser won't tip on you, some of the less well designed ones I've owned (I've been using them, on and off, all my life) tipped over just at the sight of a kerb.

Give it a go, get an inexpensive (but decent) one to start with then see how you get on with it.

Just a tip-off for anybody who might be interested - Netto's specials from next Monday include a cute pink 42-litre trolley for the princely sum of £8.99 :)

I never did get my trolley. Does anyone know of a budget priced shopping trolley around £10-£15 or so? Preferably without the torture of going to Ikea!

I've got the pink flowery Ikea one (and a matching umbrella!!:rotfl:) Last time I used it there were loads of positive comments - even a group of teenage girls asked where I got it from as they would like one!!:D

Loads of independent bag shops seem to have trolleys now. I've had mine a few years, there's a pic of it somewhere way back on this thread!! I still use it when I do a local shop rather than get a delivery. Yesterday I didn't take it as I was only planning on getting the M&S roast, wished I had as I picked up an extra bottle of wine and some other bits and my wrists were really sore after the short walk home.

I wanted a Rolser but got a cheaper one in the end, I'm sure I'll get a bigger one, probably a rolser at some point in the future but my little pink one suffices for now!

They seem to be everywhere at decent prices now tiff, your best bet would be to have a look around locally and see which one you like the feel of best, and keep watching this thread for the new offers as we spot them :D

Does anyone know if Rolsers are stronger than cheaper shoppiing trolleys? My dh broke my old one by putting some heavy allotment stuff into it so has offered to buy a replacement.

They certainly seem stronger. Rolsers (the Mountain ones) supposedly have a maximum load of 20kg, but I've been overloading mine for 2 years now (often dragging it fully loaded up two flights of stairs) and it's still bearing up...

I'm so disappointed, I went to Ikea (gateshead) this morning especially to buy a trolley and they didn't have any! When I asked they said they wouldn't be getting any for 2 weeks and they were only getting grey, I wanted a pretty colour! :o
