I took my trolley into town today and lost control of it as I tried to open a door and wheel my trolley at the same time, it hit the deck complete with contents.
An old lady bent to pick it up for me:o
Did she ask you if you just passed your test moggins?
I have to admit that I have an awful habit with my trolley...of running over men's feet. NOT intentionally of course! Our inner city shopping areas are quite small and mens feet can be quite big, so.....
To any men who have had their toes squashed in N London by a manic, trolley pulling woman,
I'm really, really sorry :heartsmil
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
Proud to be a chic shopper

Love them?As a long standing trolley user - make sure you get one that you can take the bag off easily and fold up the trolley part to put in the car separately. It does take a bit of wiggling - some trolleys are better than others at this. The LIDL one does not take as much weight as my heavy duty one so was fine to do this with. The drill is usually foot on the bottom of the trolley to hold it steady then undo the flap fastening the bag part to the trolley pull the bag over the handle and put it in the car boot. The folded handle then goes on top of the bag or on the back seat.
Don't forget that with some models you can use it as a small sacktruck - I bought a new printer when doing my shopping the other day and removed the half full bag from the trolley put the printer box on the bagrest and then put the shopping bag on top of that. It was a bit heavy and as I hadn't secured the box with bungee elastic or anything I had to be careful but I managed half a mile quite easily (with rests).0 -
Love them?I've noticed that with the Lidl one, the base is solid plastic and quite sturdy. I always buy boxes of veg from the market and was contemplating how easy it would be to load them on there, will try and find a bungy cord today.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Have no idea what they areAlisonW wrote:Also condidering getting one to keep all my sewing stuff together, thought sewing machine on bottom and various bags of stuff on top, as opposed to my current 'system' of sewing machine, 'somewhere', various bags of stuff 'somewhere else' all over the house.
What do you think? all you trolley dollies.
i don't know that your sewing machine would fit unless it's quite compact
i've an old but solid machine and it's far too wide for my trollyfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
OH owed me some money for ebay parcels from last month so I got him to pick me one up from Argos as he was going there for a new watch. He nearly had a heartattack when he got it as he couldn't fit it in the boot of the car and wondered how big it was! This is the one I got here
As soon as he got home I unpacked it BUT the box had been re-sealed and one of the wheels wasn't in packaging. I've pulled it all out (kept the packaging) and fitted the wheels but they're loose as in they don't clip on or anything is this right?I'm a little uncertain about using it as I'd be soooooo embarrased if I was going along and the wheel came of the thing
:o:o:o:o:o If it's the design then fair enough but if its faulty then I want a new one!
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I bought mine years ago from Lakeland Limited - trendy blue and silver grey. DH flatly refuses to have anything to do with it but does admit it helps us get the weekly shop home efficiently! When on hols in Rome, saw many super-trendy women with them in the city - if they can use one and still wear Prada, so can I (albeit without the Prada... sob!).0

Love them? Was just wondering about the sticker/pin idea for Old Stylers etc. What about like a luggage tag type idea, that way it could be attached to your trolley without damaging the cover etc and not worry about it coming off etc. Could just loop it over the handle or something. Just a thought.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0

Smiley-mum.
You could get a label sized picture of a safety pin on both sides and laminate it. Then thread a cord through and attach as suitable to your shopper0 -

Thanks, Holsale, I'd better reconsider my sewing kit transport. I have a very heavy ancient machine.0
