That's a good idea too. One of mine I picked for two reasons a) because it's a great song and b) because it was used in the film Highlander with Christopher Lambert and I know it is cheesy but I love it (ooooo those eyes!). It is of course the late great Freddie Mercury - "Who Wants to Live Forever?" I still can't watch that bit of the film where it's played without blubbing - it's so sad when she's grown old and is dying, but he is still young and gorgeous
.
I used to always say it'd be a quick trip up the crem for me - but now I must admit I like the idea of these woodland burials. Although DH and I both said we would like our ashes scattering in the gardens of the Chalice Well in Glastonbury.
I've been out shopping with DH, bought a few nice tops and a guide book for Rhodes - so if anyone has been and knows of any places not to be missed - do let me know;).
LW - I think DH is taking the laptop so he can keep an eye on some investments that might need some action taking on Thursday of next week - either that or my new phone has t'internet on it for free at present, I'll see how it goes and may pop in.
- "Who Wants to Live Forever?" i just love that sniff sniffthe truth is out there ... on these pages !!0 -

unity and sharon dont overdo the rushing around before you go, have fun. hope you get nice weather.
Divvent worry hinny- I am pacing myself. Unfortunately it's started raining here again although I did get quite a bit dry on the line this morning when it was practically gale force winds:eek:. DH put lines up in the garage though so I have DS's jeans in there. I'll iron whilst watching something on TV. I've already got suntan stuff and got some small bottles of shower gel and shampoo from Aldi yesterday so they can all go in the suitcase. I always say I am not taking much, but this time I mean it - just a few pairs of shorts, some tops, swimsuit and a smartish dress just in case. I found a pic of the hotel http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk/Holidays/Greece/Rhodes/Lardos/Belmare.html if you fancy a look.
Samson - my big daft cat was whinging to go out this morning for his walk (on his lead of course - he's the one who has arguments with cars otherwise ). I knew he wouldn't like the wind - but he was adamant so I took him out. He got as far as the top of the steps onto the garden when a great gust came - I've never seen him run so fast and he has remained inside and chastened ever since :rotfl:.friend has arranged wood land funeral in wicker basket/pod thing , your buried standing up ! I can't fancy being buried standing up! In fact I have always been scared of being buried alive especially as I'm claustrophobic. I love the idea of kerbside collection :rotfl:do you reckon the re-cycling bloke might take him then?sharon have a really nice holiday ....ooooo these cakes sound nice to . send some to the cafe on here for afternoon snacks . pack your cozzy in case /or skinny dip ! nice weather a head

"Nice weather ahead?????" Ssshhhh - don't tell DH - not after I've gone and booked this holiday! Although by the time we paid for diesel and various b&b's we'd probably spend more than we would going to Rhodes :TSome people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

The laptop mending guy came and took my poor laptop away this morning and dh's been on here for most of the day. he left around 2 to go to Wembly and I fell asleep on the sofa for 2 hours ! only woke up 'cos the phone went which is why Im still up now. TV looked like the usual rubbish tonight so I watched the 2nd LOTR dvd, Im working my way through them again.
Sharon Hope you have good weather and a great holiday.
Unity The hotel looks lovely. My dad and his wife have been going to the island of Simi for about 28 years, they have to get a boat from Rhodes to take them there as theres no airport. They are good friends with the owner of the small hotel they always stay in now.
Well I think I'll go to bed and read for a while. I'll try and get back online tomorrow before ds1 and family descend on us.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

Well it looks clean and not too large - which is enough for us. I do fancy a swim, but will have to take it easy as doc says I shouldn't do breast stroke (only stroke I can manage) as it's too much of a strain on my back. I never did learn the crawl
SOYLENT GREEN - cripes I had forgotten that. Erm......... it was 1973 and I have to confess I went to see it at the cinema! Mind you I was under-age at the time! The laptop mending guy came and took my poor laptop away this morning and dh's been on here for most of the day. he left around 2 to go to Wembly and I fell asleep on the sofa for 2 hours ! only woke up 'cos the phone went which is why Im still up now. Suep - DD2 was at Wembley as well, so I told her to shout DH's name and say you're an absolute bounder for not bringing Suep!I'm sure he'll have heard as she's used to shouting orders on building sites:rotfl:.
I hope you get your laptop back soon - it's rotten being without one.
We thought we'd give Rhodes a try since we've been to Crete a couple of times in the last few years, Santorini and Corfu as well - I'll get around the lot given the chance. I love those tiny islands without an airport - I think Paxos and Anti-Paxos are the same and we've been to both. I'm off to Primark today and doing my washing and ironing in stages. I've got an item on e-bay where the bidding will end whilst I'm away - but Connor is going to pop it in the post for me. Just shows how spur of the moment this has been as I wouldn't have bothered putting it on if I had realised.
Hope Sharon, CWTA and S/E are getting good weather. Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever
