I posted some time ago about feeling generally unwell all the time and after reading this thread thought I may have FM.
My main concerns were that I was following Slimming World diet to a T and not losing weight, my immune system was bu**ered making me fell always unwell, not sleeping, aching muscles blah blah blah ....................
Well yesterday I saw a consultant after 8wk wait and today feel even worse.
She said there isn't anything medically wrong with me and that I 'just have' chronic fatigue.
She said I'll probably always feel like this, to have a whisky or brandy every night and will most likely never lose weight and should get used to the fact.
None of this seems constructive to me at the moment.
I am seeing my GP next week, but for now I am at a loss.
Does anyone know what chronic fatigue does to your body that makes it keep its weight or why I should take up drinking (hate spirits).
Any tips on how to make it easier?
    LL

Well done Sue sounds like you had a good time.

Well, the hot water cylinder has been replaced, radiators "de-sludged", new lid on tank in the loft, and boiler serviced, and the plumbers have now left. I'm sitting here actually shaking, and I feel vaguely sick, as I loathe having people in the house, but it'll pass eventually. Luckily, we were able to arrange it for a day when Mr LW is working from home, so he's done the actual talking to the plumbers, I just hid on the sofa under my blanket (pathetic, or what?)

Kass, mate, you're not pathetic; those DWP forms and the hoops they make us jump through to get anything off the State are enough to send anyone round the bend. And I hope all is as well as can be with your friend.

Unity are you feeling a bit less like the wreck of the Mary Rose today?

    Any news on Sharon?

Better go now - Mr LW wants some lunch, and I haven't been able to get into the kitchen all morning to get anything started. I think it might be Sausage Inna Bun today....
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

  • LW, apart from your other probs with people in the house, I think being poorly makes us more territorial as our home is so much more a place of safety, rest and where we can be in pain at peace iykwim.
I still struggle with having the cleaner come even though we get on like a house on fire, if she ever cancels, I feel a touch of relief.
Unity, I need to learn how to listen to someone just vent about things like sleep problems without constantly trying to come up with solutions. Damn the male part of my brain!

I am going to sulk this afternoon as buying a handbag got me no nearer moving house or finding the money for it. *sigh*
At least I can still take it back.
But I lurve it soooooo much  :D
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

  • LilacLilie, oh dear, that's not good is it. Do you have a supportive GP? Maybe you could ask for a second opinion or see what GP suggests in terms of medication etc to help you.

:rotfl: norty girl.... it was a long time ago and after chatting to someone for a short while on a game site just like we do on here i had a pm asking would i like to cyber *** :p i hadnt a clue what they were talking about :o and when i found out i turned off the laptop and went and hid

Yes Raeh, someone did mention about listening to music and nature sounds - it was me
oopps sorry:o blame the fog not me :p the audible site that cwta said about sounds good as iv had emails from them offering free downloads :) my youngest used to go to bed every night listening to the harry potter books on mp3 and i think we have the lord of the rings books too

LW i hope you have settled down now everyone has gone, i used to be the toughest person ever and always the one people asked for help when there was a 'confrontation' needed taking something back to a shop etc, but for the past few years im getting more and more a 'hide under a blanket person' i dont know if its an age thing or illness lol
good idea about sausages in a bun ;) youngest ds has just asked me if he can have hotdogs for tea lol, i think we will nip out and buy sausages and rolls and thats a nice easy tea [ i know not healthiest so il push the fruit ;)]

sue well done for getting out :D there will be no stopping your retail therapy now ;)

hi lilaclillie im sorry you havent been given any answers :( i would write down all the things you arent sure about and take the list to the GP with you. Im not sure i would have appreciated someone telling me to have a drink  not very constructive advice at all!! the only advice i can give you about the fatigue is to not over do things as thats what makes me feel the worst, make sure you are resting. for me the pain is the worst part and im sure thats what gives me the terrible fatigue [ but maybe not as people will disagree i know ;)] As i said every time you think of something write it down and take the time to ask everything :) good luck and let us know how you get on?

saffie im sorry your dh was refused dla but theres no harm in reapplying?? good luck if he decides to

iv had a busy day of cleaning all the kitchen, those cats get everywhere  floor mopped, washing done [not ironing!!] and hoovered all over with my brilliant bissell pet hair [thanks to mse] so now im taking a break before nipping out to the shops then after tea i wont be moving as i need energy for tomorrow to take the kids bowling :D i love the holidays but they are so much more tiring than working :rotfl:

i hope everyone is having a good one and enjoying whatever they are doing :D

  • Raeh I have a soft spot for East handbags; I have to be honest and say that I did actually (in a moment of madness) buy 2 of them :o
I'll see if they're on the website and post linkies, if you promise not to look at the prices

I've been using a salmon pink Tula bag that I gott in the sale at the end of last Summer in Debs. I don't care whether it goes with anything or not - I liked it and it was only £15.
