  • bz Thanks for the info about Sky - I currently have my BB with Virgin, but if I'm gonna stay with Sky it'll make sense to go with that, although Sky want £60 to hook up an existing dish!!
Flamin Nora at the overdraft! You gonna be OK for money??!!

Cwta: Can you not just transfer your service over to the new house and therefore not pay fees for connection? Home movers with Sky didn't charge us for the telephone installation by putting it through as a home move (which it blatantly wasn't)...maybe Virgin does the same?

The money thing...we'll sort that tomorrow morning. Just (hopefully) need to move some money round. It's complicated trying to pay for the joint house before we're joined financially officially!

  • Let me know if you're short of cash though? I can always pop something in the post to you.

Sky connection will be free unless there isn't the wires for Sky+ already there in which case they want £60. I would phone them and threaten to cancel unless they gave it to me for free and I would cancel and either go with Virgin or just have Freeview.

yikes thats not good bz fingers crossed it is easy to sort.

sorry but im whining about antihistamines now.....they changed my brand last week since i asked if i could either take the one a day twice a day or take two different types. new ones are being less effective than old ones where.

and while im moaning you would think when i got up at 3:30 this morning and am tired id be able to sleep now. which admitedly would be easier if my eyes werent streaming and itch and if my nose wasnt so stuffy arrggh.

btw kazz and careful did i remember to sa thank you for your offers? i meant to but not entirely sure i did so shall do so now.

sharon You were in the back of my mind wondering how you were doing. Sorry you've been feeling a bit rough but hopefully you are on the up now? How is the counselling going?

lw Of course you have been missed! It's been everso quiet here with no you, sharon, s/e and very little from unity. Nice to hear from you - are you having a good time? You must be if the whisky is on order *wink*

I'm discovering that this fake tan is a nice colour and long lasting - shame I couldn't put it on properly *g*

Sorry petal, I just cannot stay in when the sun shines and it's hot. Tbh the only time I feel remotely well is with slight sunburn :rotfl:. I don't really burn - I'm lucky in that I go brown straight away with just a slightly warm 'glow' - and it does my aches the world of good :T. Sunday and Monday were spent in the garden watching DH work :p, then today we popped down to York - scoured the charity shops for knitting books - bought an 'England' flag (big one) for next year's St. George's day, as I could only get the little clip on car ones this year. I also figured it would come in handy if Maggie should pop her clogs :o. We had hog roast sarnies, half of Guinness and a cookies and cream cornet - lush ;). I also managed to knit most of a baby cardi in the car and just have a sleeve to finish tomorrow.

DS has an interview for a placement tomorrow so fingers crossed for that ;). DD2 wants us to visit her on the last weekend in June to meet prospective step grand-children, so that should be fun - but need to get the car sorted as the power steering is making a noise.

Sharon - Hopefully you'll feel better once you know what type of chemo you're having.

LW - Glad you're enjoying your holiday and hope the weather is as good with you.

Raeh - Everyone thinks of the North East as being an industrial landscape - but it's not like that at all - it's very beautiful :D.

BZ - Only fourteen weeks  crumbs the time flies - I'm sure it will be here in no time, but let's not wish the summer over ;). Mind you it may already be over - four days is a big improvement on last year :rotfl:.

You can all probably tell I'm in manic mode at present, because if I stop to think, or the weather breaks I'll be back in the pit again, so best not go there :o.

I've been up since around 6 a.m. so better get to bed I think.

Morning pcl its still nice down here atm, not sure how long its going to last though.

I GOT MY LAPTOP BACK :j:j can you tell Im excited :D The only problem (apart from the huge bill ) is Im going out today to meet my friends and then call into Mums on way home, when all Id rather do is stay at home and play with my laptop. Id forgotten how nice it is to lie on the sofa with it on my lap.

Thanks for the info on the black out stuff BZ it would work out quite expensive as its a big window though. Last night I put up 2 old sheets and covered the gap between the curtain pole and window frame and it worked, Diamind slept round until the alarm :T but Ive been awake most of the night with bad IBS and I was too hot even with the fan going all night, I wouldnt mind so much, but it has to be the night before Im out for the day.

Sharon Im glad your feeling a bit better this week, its hard to stay down when the suns shinning isnt it. Good luck for Monday.

I cant remember much else except a quick message to Unity - SLOW DOWN ;)

:o sorry unity I can't remember at all what that must have been replying to?
I love having the sunshine too as I ache far less but then I overdid it this weekend and have had a thumpy head for days  dont you go over doing it ;)

sharon good luck with the chemo :) I'm glad you say you are feeling a little brighter this week, the sun always seems to make things feel somehow better? really good to hear from you x

sue I know just how you feel about your laptop as I can't sit at the pc for very long and dh borrowed mine for a few hours the other day and I was embarrassingly lost without it :o

hello to everyone else :) I'm sorry if I appear to be ignoring this thread a little but for some reason I'm finding it all quite hard work to 'chat' :o

  • Unity You don't ned to apologise for not posting!! Chufed that the sun does for you what it does for me - all the aches and pains recede don't they. I agree with sue though that you do seem to be overdoing it a little? I understand the "making hay while the sun shines" though.

Raeh Sorry to hear that you still don't feel like chatting. Hope the sunshine lifts you and you can relax a little in it instead of trying to do too much.

sue Brill news that you got your lappy back!! Nice work with the sheets over the window too - sounds like it worked a treat!

pcl You don't need to say thanks - we're all so mutually supportive here that I think they're all very equal relationships in terms of support iyswim.

Weather is still holding here although slightly cooler but there's a nice breeze. I still haven't made it down to the beach, so maybe today is the day to do it?

I've not long woken up so apologise if what I've said doesn't make too much sense! Today I need to find the alternative to the BT connection fee. Did find out that if I sign up for 18 months contract they waive the fee - funny how they didn;t mention that as an option, but can I do that when I'm in a rented house? It feels a little uncomfortable as who knows what the future holds.

  • I've had a lovely day. I thought sod it and went to the beach for a walk - if I had thought about it for too long I wouldn't have got off my arris to do it.
Walked in the sand, dabbled my feet in the sea which was really quite warm and sat and watched the goings on for a while. This on top of having a lie in have chilled me out and the added bonus is I won't have to wash my feet for a while *g*
