id eb incredibly tempted to go with ntl or whoever they are now rather than pay bt that much, a small charge for their being no phone line already there is fair enough but that much is rediculous. id also be telling bt why im going with their competitor instead.0

Thanks for reminding me about the blackout material cwta I shall have a look in a minute, the reason I didnt when you first mentioned it was becuase I think its partly caused by a gap at the top of the curtain between where it hangs from the hooks and top of the curtain pole iykwim, but I can hang a sheet over that if I need to. My Mum will sew the material on for me if I ask her nicely.
Im usually getting dinner ready now but Im not hungry which is not like me  especially since Ive been on Lyrica. I dont need to cook for dh as hes off to see the Manic street preachers play after his evening job and I dont cook for dd anymore, she sorts herself out, I'll prbably just be lazy and have beans on toast later or something, Im too hot and too tired to bother with anything else.
No sign of the laptop yet, when he rang the man said it would either be later today or first thing tomorrow. I can use this main computer so its not been too bad, but I have to share this with dd and dh and I find that sitting on this chair is too uncomfortable and sets my back pain off.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

bz The line hasn't been connected for a phone for over 18 months, so I've booked it with BT, but can cancel just the day before, so I've booked them as a fall back position in case I can't get anythig else and will ask Landlady to pay half.
I pointed sue in the direction of Ebay for blackout fabric. They have it dirt cheap on there.
pcl Thanks for the mention of NTL - I couldn't think of any of BT's competitors until you mentioned that.

i think ntl got taken over by virgin though, or something or other. telewest i think merged with ntl a few years ago too. the rest annoyingly require a bt line afaik. sensible to book it as a fall back, when i moved time before this time i went with ntl because they could set it up in days rather than the 6 weeks bt were talking about.0

Just checking in on the 'orribly sloooooowwwwww gerbil-powered 'puter at the hotel; have sent Mr LW to get me a whisky.;)
I've only very swiftly skimmed the last page, so not up to speed on what's been going on, but I hope you're all as well as you can be:o, and behaving yourselves while I'm not around.:D
See you in a few days.:beer:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

sharon You were in the back of my mind wondering how you were doing. Sorry you've been feeling a bit rough but hopefully you are on the up now? How is the counselling going?
lw Of course you have been missed! It's been everso quiet here with no you, sharon, s/e and very little from unity. Nice to hear from you - are you having a good time? You must be if the whisky is on order *wink*
I'm discovering that this fake tan is a nice colour and long lasting - shame I couldn't put it on properly *g*I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Sharon I was thinking about you today. Good to [STRIKE]hear[/STRIKE] see from you
Lw hope you're having a grand time
Cwta Sky uses BT line, but they'll install it (for a LOT less than £122.50) and you only pay £10 a month for your line rental which includes free evening and weekends..? If you get any tv package you get broadband for free/£5. Worth a thought?Pcl was right - ntl and telewest merged and then turned into Virgin - which I didn't have a problem with at the old house but they don't cover this area. I'm pretty sure that they're much cheaper to connect with than BT too...
I've come back from the hospital - mil2b's CAT scan came back showing another psoas abcess - which was rare enough the first time she had one little over 12months ago!! For those not in the know, it's an abscess inside the body (in the cavity where her kidney once was) that has attached to her bowel(s) and the psoas muscle in the back. They're only putting a drain in on Friday and they couldn't tell me whether it would be in there for a while, or whether it'll be done there and then (the last one took a bit over 2weeks to drain!). They won't deal with the constipation issue vigorously (which reads properly) until the abcess has been cleared - on the basis that they don't want to force anything past the "blockage" (read abscess) so she's incredibly uncomfortable and can't even put her feet up (because of the hugely bulging belly) which means her legs/ankles/feet have swelled up like elephants legs. I love the NHS
On the way back from the hospital mil2b's card was turned down (for dog food) and then swallowed by the cash machine outside when DF went to check the balance. My card was also declined! And when I checked it it was £1800 overdrawn!! Eek! Some swift money transfers required methinks!:o
