  • sue Isn't it always the way that the washing machine breaks down when the laundry basket is full. Glad it's fixed now anyway.
Howzabout emailing the ebay seller and ask if it's been posted yet? I can see why you're chomping on the bit for it. Reall pleased you got the ramp sorted - that'll be a great help for you.

lw I'm not gonna boot you from behind at all - maybe you just need to chill with some knitting or something for a while til your mood passes.

On the subject of kids, if I had them, I wouldhave wanted a boy first as I had always liked the idea of an older brother.

I still haven't even made a list of things to pack, never mind actually packing. Yet I really don't feel like doing anythng today except sitting. I am still really tired. I always resolve not to leave things to the last minute next time, yet I always do it - why?!
I actually do have to get up off the sofa now as I need the loo, otherwise I would stay put!
    Have a good day all.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

CwtA it's often only the need for the loo that gets me off the sofa, so I know what you mean!

I've actually managed to dust the living room today - a proper dust, moving the myriad dragons from their perches, and using polish, so that's pretty good going for me. I probably should do the bedroom as well, but hey, let's not get carried away eh?
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Absolutely, lw, you wouldn't have anything to do tomorrow if you did the bedroom today!
I have now got as far as making a list of things to pack, so I can rest for a while now *g*.
    So strenuous.

    Hi All,

Sharon - I do hope they can sort your op and treatment out very quickly and can only imagine how distressing this must be for you. I'm so glad to hear you got to spend some quality time with your grand-son and hope for more better days like these in the future.

Oh and I appear to have become fodder for mosquitos too  I now have bites everywhere, including: 2 on my spine, 2 beyond my ear, 2 on my face, one on my hand, one on my leg, two on my arm, one on my neck  To compound matters, they really shouldn't be that annoying or itchy as I take 2x"one a day" antihistamines as it is (but I'm growing in immunity to them, which is concerning as my allergies seem to have increased since getting ill) and the "Click it" (which sends a little electric pulse into the bite and somehow stops it itching, a bit like a mini tazer) I would normally use I have come to realise that it doesn't mix well with fibro... I clicked it last night on a few bites and I felt awful after cos it'd gone through the nerve endings (like I clicked one on my arm and it made me feel like I'd banged my funny bone ).

Hi BZ - try garlic capsules to deter the mozzies plus Avon Skin So Soft body lotion in the green (not pink) bottle. A friend's husband worked on oil rigs off Africa and all the blokes there used SSS lotion - it really does work :T.

When it comes to having boys or girls, I am one of one :o, so no help there and I had two girls first. When we decided to have another I really hoped for a son and started researching (b4 t'internet). I got a book from the library by a French doctor called Francois Papa after reading about him in a Parenting mag. I read up on the special diets and best times to conceive to have a boy and okay, it's a 50/50 chance anyway - but we got what we hoped for. Whether it was just luck or not, who can say, but at the time this doc was showing an 80% success rate including some celebs. It wasn't a drastic regime, didn't put my health at risk and was worth a shot.

Well, the sun has gone in - and I have to go to the opticians to get my new contact lens. Unfortunately my eye-sight is such that I can no longer get the prescription I need in daily disposables  so if I am to try this monovision thing, where you have one eye for distance and the other for reading, it will have to be with the monthlies. Tbh we don't know if I will be able to manage with this arrangement but I have to give it a go. The other alternatives are to keep with daily disposables and not go for monovision (meaning I will have to use easy readers on top of my contacts) or else just opt for varifocal spectacle lenses and this might also be problematical with my lack of neck mobility :o. Still this is just one of the minor probs to be dealt with.

CWTA & Suep - I have just finished reading 'Chosen', so thank you both - it should be winging its way to you Suep, so you can pass it on to DD's friend. I'm now also looking forward to the fourth one coming out - wish they'd write a bit quicker .

Happy St George's Day to you all - I am proudly displaying my flags in the bay window:j. It seems it is okay to be Scottish, Welsh or Irish these days, but being English and proud of our culture and heritage sort of gets frowned upon in case it offends others. Well b0llocks to that ;). I must be recovering :rotfl:.

S/E You are right of course about the tablets, I just hope it will be a low maintentance dose as the side effects of vomiting and the runs plus the headaches all just seem to aggravate the fibro. Hoping to get to the 'Stitch 'n' B1tch' tonight. Had a little stroll around Hexham yesterday and managed to get quite a few knitting books from the charity shops - including an Edina Ronay and one of Beatrix Potter patterns.

    ((((Hugs)))),

  • Unity, I'm the same with eyesight - one eye short-sighted and the other long-sighted. Ain't it just typical!
I'm nearing the point where I need my distance glasses most of the time now rather than just for driving or TV watching, so thanks for the info on the contacts. Will bear it in mind for the future.

I got a book on sewing techniques from the charity shop yesterday as I plan to get the machine out when I've moved and I'm a real amateur, but keen.
I think I saw a book in there on Kaffe Fasset (sp?) designs - would you be interested in it if it's still there?
Speak now, or forever hold our peace! *g*

mossie bites, try vitamin b12 or b complex. the first year me and sister went away they left me alone since she was there, the next time she started the vit b one month before we went and didnt tell me and i got eaten alive. last time neither of us remembered it until we were at the airport so only started it then, she got bitten a lot less in the second week than the first, and i was fine and only got bitten when i was out without her at my side.

kass are you lurking? stick your head in and let us know that your ok if you are please (and the kids and charlie are ok too of course).

sue i think they have up to 7 days to post things and you ahve to allow 14days before cna file for item not recieved, but my memory could be wrong. mostly i find seller post asap. mark them down on the postage and packing star rating, if you dont get it by saturday, personally i think 5 business days is more than enough to get something in the mail. also check if they sent it first class or some other way and how much the actual postage was, if there is a differenc of more than say £1 i knock the postage start rating down to, or if they mail 2nd class and on the listing said it would be different.

sorry guys my brain has died again, i cant remember what else i wanted to say, im not ignoring anyone on purpose.

Suep I'm pretty sure it's 28 days you have to give them for your item to arrive before complaining, but they usually give you some indication on the item listing of how long they think it will take or should notify you of when it's been posted. If they haven't done any of this (along with what Pcl said) then I would mark them down too.

Well done on the dusting LW... now that is the devil's own job! I don't think I've ever dusted with polish. In fact I don't think I've ever owned any..? But then again I don't remember being brought up with anything other than a damp cloth and Jif...?

Mozzy bites, thanks for the info...I'd love to say I'll remember it....but we all know the chances of that ;) Maybe remind me before the wedding, so I don't have horrid bites on display, and also don't get bitten as much on honeymoon!

I still have the sense that I'm forgetting something in this wedding planning malarky...

I really should be in the shower. A friend is popping over this arvo before my gp appt later and will be here in about 15mins. I need to look presentable (not for him, lol) for the photos I need to take to get my photocard license renewed...something that expires in the first week or so of May :o I also need to apply for a preemptive passport in my new name so may as well do both at the same time. If only I could drag myself for the photos to be taken....

A fairly large number of the dragons live on top of two cabinets that originally belonged to Mr LW's grandma, and appreciate a bit of polish and TLC now and then (The cabinets, that is, not the dragons - those are better off being gently dusted with a paint brush or an air duster).

Good luck with the GP, BZ, and go and get those photos done while you're out.
