Plus, to finally get them to agree to having me don't forget I offered them 3 months rent as a deposit, instead of 1 month, and I had a guarantor. They have to wait for 3 months before evicting someone from not paying their rent, so it effectively means that with a 3 month bond they wouldn't be out of pocket if that were to happen, which of course it wouldn't. It's something worth knowing though, and I found it out as my friend's parents own 10 houses and rent them out. I agree with pcl too about the "if it's right it will happen" and that was the basis we fought for ours on - if we'd tried everything that was sensible to offer and it didn't come through then it wasn't for us, no matter how much we love it. Thankfully it all worked out.
Good luck for today Cwta, come back and let us know what happened, and don't forget to take some time to really think about all the pros and cons, no matter how scared you are of the market moving fast. Having said that, apparently Easter is the best time to put a house on the market, which is of course a double edged sword as it means that there are more interested parties, but there should also be more properties available on the market.
pcl I agree with you about the school grammar etc, I don't personally think enough is done to encourage it. I was still under the assumption that 5% of marks were based on grammar, spelling and presentation though, but I might be living in the past
I'd love to have the option of the hydrotherapy pool etc, I'd love to be able to work on my "core strength" (I've heard a lot about it in dribs and drabs over the last couple of years too Cwta), but I don't think it's available here, or at least I've never been offered it.In the meantime I'll have to make do with the Wii
Will try and order the Wii Fit this weekend from Mil2b's on the more secure connection. They have games on there, like the hula hoop game, which work on "the core".
You'll all be glad to know (although maybe not as glad as I am!) that we've finally agreed on an invite!! Production should be able to start now and I'm really hoping to get them sent off to family first, by the end of the weekend, so that my aunt will get one asap. It will be such a relief, I can't even tell you! I'll even try and get a photo of them so you can all see what I've been blathering on about for so long!
Going to have a reasonably lazy day with DF today while he's off, watch some films while I make up invites (and prod him to do the same), have a shower and straighten my hair properly (for the first time in weeks!) to try and make me feel a bit more human.
Might go and see the pups later and am even thinking about getting Mil2b over on Sunday for some late lunch (Shepherd Spy I'm thinking)...is that a bit too brave?
Looks like we won't be going to SIL's in Derby for the weekend, but will attempt it another time, and they're on about coming over on Friday instead, "to help out with 1 or 2 things" (not too sure what they are but think she's secretly itching to help with the invites
), so not too bad
I'll be back later to check up on you all. Have a nice afternoon all."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
cwta it's funny you should say that things happen for a reason, this morning dh decided we would go shopping instead of tomorrow, so we went to Asda despite me feeling carp after yesterday, but I do use a scooter for shopping. It was really busy there , we battled through the crowds and someone said hello, it was my sister, I dont see her oftern, she lives a while away and works full time, we got chatting and I remembered Id forgotten to buy her little girl an Easter egg this year
so I said Id give her some money instead, I gave my sister a few quid and as she went to put it away she realised she'd forgotten her purse, and she had a trolley full of food  she wouldn't have noticed until she was at the checkout if I hadn't given her that money, dh gave her some money to cover her shopping and gave her our bank details so she could pay it back into our account direct. We couldn't get over that we had bumped into each other and that she wouldn't have known about the missing purse if I hadnt given her that money
BZ thanks for the tip about the book, I'll have to have a look at it on Amazon.
I used to be really good at spelling, but Im carp at it now , Im always getting my letters round the wrong way and having to go back over what I've wrote too.
I nearly forgot to say cwta I hope the house viewing went well. My neighbour knocked on the door yesterday and told me shes emigrating to Australia .....today  she went to visit her sister out there last year and met a man who has proposed, her student daughter and boyfriend are going to rent the house from her. I must say shes picked a great day to be emigrating, it hasn't stopped raining all day.
Hope everyones okReal stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

Hiya folks
I'm the same as bz with grammar and spelling - it's a bit of a bug bear of mine as I love language, but I've realised it's one of those "don't sweat the small stuff" things.
OK. The house I went to see ....
I loved it and it's mine! It's small but perfectly formed, two bed, little back garden and a very clever downstairs loo in the cupboard under the stairs. It's in a village about half a mile away from Dad and it's a bustling little place where lots goes on and you can get involved or not as you like. There's a real sense of community there.
The woman whose house it is is moving to Australia nd is happy to deal with me direct rather than use Letting Agents, so I won't fall down on a credit check with problems that are in the past. She's happy for me to have the cat there and just leave me to it.
So, will be moving roughly 2nd June which gives me plenty of time to pack etc without too much stress to get it done quickly.
Managed to negotiate the rent down somewhat too.
As soon as I walked in the door it felt right and in instances like that, I've learned to trust my gut instinct.

:j auntie axe thats wonderful
im all for going on gut instinct with houses as sometimes they just dont 'feel' right?
bz i apologize, as im so carp at typing, if i was to look for shift all the time for capitals i would make more mistakes than i do nowim not lazy though, just slightly brain frazzled most of the time to worry about it.
I agree about text speak though, i just cant understand it?
cant think what else to type as im tired lol, I was so fed up earlier that i took myself off to home bargains and the traffic was bad, so im more tired from driving than usual

Thank raeh, it's a real weight off my mind and quite a revelation to be looking forward to being there.
I had wondered how you were and hoping you hadn't been overdoing it. Sorry that you were fed up - did you buy choccie biccies at Home Bargains.
We all know each other far too well now to let little things like capital letters come between us *g*I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
i bought lots and lots of little easter eggs for the kids, i shouldnt have really as id already got them normal cadburys ones and the grabbit tinned ones [dashed out to get those] but they had the egglets at 15p and bags of mini cream eggs 6 bags for £1, chocolate bunnies 19p, so would have been rude to not indulge *g*
i was just fed up with the wet weather and im not used to being in the house all day so was going a little stir crazy2009-£7500 2010 £10800 2011 £2000

You wouldn't have been able to live with the guilt if you hadn't bought them *g*
I hope you get to indulge a little too.
What a shame the weather has been bad with you - it's been fine and dry here but there's been a stiff wind. Perfect drying weather (her Mother said *g*).I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
That's brilliant new's about the house careful! I'm so glad it's all worked out well for you.
You've all talked loads since I was last on so I shall just say thankyou to you all for saying how lovely my baby is.
He is getting better and eating more but he still isn't drinking. He won't drink the water or kitten milk I give him so I've been giving him solely wet food and adding a bit of water to it. I'm hating having to do his eyes with the cream and give him his worming stuff. He looks like he hates me when I do it but later he is on my knee after climbing up my leg so he can't really mean it.
bz mentioned something about hoping my niece didn't crush him. I was worried about that too cos she can be a little madam but I was amazed at how sweet she was with him and other than a small incident where she tried picking him up and grabbed him by the neck, it went very well.
He's trying to attack my fingers now so I think that is a cry for attention!
Hope everyone is well!

Ive got a quiet evening ahead of me as dh is off to a local pub thats got a s*x Pistols tribute act playing, did I say before he's an old punk  mind you so am I, but I gave it up about 27 years ago when I had ds1, men dont ever seem to grow up do they :rotfl:Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.
