Hi BZ, did you try the Ecclefechan pies? I keep meaning to pick some up and give them a go - purely for evaluation you understand ;). Don't go getting all incontinent on my account though :rotfl:. Thanks for telling Kassandra what the SF ball is and sorry Kassandra - I came on here meaning to yesterday and promptly forgot!
No I didn't...I didn't really take a good look at them tbh, as MIL2B can be a little demanding of attention  Are they fruity?

No worries about the SF thing, I'm always forgetting what I was gonna say on here!

Geez, you guys are quiet tonight!

I'm off to Ikea (in theory)...I've already told OH he'll have to push me round in a wheelchair cos there's no way I'll manage going round there... we'll see if I stick to that!

Ha ha! We are all weeing and laughing and don't know who we are talking to, what was said or what we are laughing at!!! We are all truly certifiable and I love it! :T

Thanks for letting me know what SLE is, I'm learning from you all every day. Somebody mentioned a wheelchair voucher. Do you have to be getting DLA for that?

That sock monkey is brilliant!! I can't believe it was made, it looks like something you would buy in a shop.

BZ, don't worry about your sister. You're not being cruel, you have to look after yourself. Do remember though, how you felt before you had a diagnosis. She may have a real problem so don't be too harsh on her. On the other hand, she may be just a bit starved of attention. Either way, she has a problem. That doesn't mean you have to make yourself ill though so stand your ground. If she has got a real illness or energy problem then she should understand. If she doesn't understand then maybe she is being a bit princessy (is that even a word  )

There was other things I wanted to say but I've forgot now which I know will be a shock to you all :rotfl:

I'm going to be dying for at least four days. I went out last night. It's amazing what effects alcohol has. It is the only time I feel normal. I can see how people suffering from a chronic pain condition can become dependant. I don't think it would ever happen to me but I certainly understand now. Anyhoo, me thinking I was normal and could behave like all my friends led to me going back to a house party and not coming home until some obsene hour. Now I feel like my neck is in a vice with some rather heavy person jumping up and down on the handle  I'm shaking with the cold yet OH say's it's red hot in the room. I'm so tired that even my skin feels it!

I'm in a good mood though despite all this as I had a lovely night. We went bowling first and got that carried away and competitive that the security guard perched himself on the end of our lane all night :rotfl:

They were all laughing at me cos I had to have one of the kiddies balls and I was even struggling with that.

Right, I'm yawning away here and have yet to go to the shop (OH doesn't drive  ) so I shall bid you goodnight and hope you sleep tight. *quickly adds poet to cv*

I want a sock monkey too, honestly Sharon you could make a fortune selling them to us, me first :j Im sorry the jab didnt help your bursitis, is it similar to a steriod jab ? I've had a few of these but they didnt help me.

BZ your not being cruel about your sister at all, she must know your ill and cant run around after her.

Kassandra It sounds like you had a good night, sometimes it's well worth overdoing it for something you really enjoy. Rest up and you'll be back to your usual level of pain in a few days  hopefully its a lot less than what you have now iykwim !! Yay I said it :T

  • Hi, another newbie here.

I have had bad pain in hip and lower back for over 4 yrs now and as yet no diagnosis but they think hip pain is bursitis, seen 4 consultants had many mri scans etc nothing showed aparrentley. Been on various medication which hasn't helped, also had the injection for bursitis about 6 times over the yrs and not one helped but they kept trying, I agree with Little tinker it hurts (v.v. much) when doc presses on it..... Now at pain clinc who keep changing medication and all it has done has caused me to be even more sleey and tired than normal and go down to shorter hours at work. They also tried, recently, an injection to numb nerve in groin area, not good wiped leg out completley for 2 days had to live with parents as I couldn't walk even with crutches(luckily saw the funny side off it) now waiting for another nerve conduction test and fingers crossed may get diagnosis. People think I am odd because I want a diagnosis, personnally I think it is harder not knowing what is causing the pain and discomfort and when people ask what is wrong it doesn't sound much saying I have pain in hip and lower back but it is.... Sorry to go on so much but I'm tired and can't get to sleep in the midway area at the moment, hopefully sleep will come soon naturally if not time for a sleeping tablet.

Hope to speak to u all soon and take care in this wonderfull weather we are having :-)

welcome Meemee -l agree that having a diagnosis is important to me -seems less scary somehow easier to cope and more easily understood by others.Stupid really that we worry about others believing that we have pain-we shouldnt have to justify ourselves but so many of us feel we need to!
    Welcome to our merry band!

Welcome Meemee, I have had bad low back and hip pain for a few years now (lost count) it goes down my leg and into my foot sometimes and is very painful, I thought it was sciatica for a few years but last year was told it's sacriolliac (sp) joint pain. My Rheumi told me its the joint that conncets the bottom of the spine with the hip and it's tiny so doesn't show up on any scans or x rays ! I've had a few steriod jabs which havn't helped and last year another jab which I cant remember the name of at the moment, damn fibro fog ;)Unitys had it and its the one they give to women in labour that numbs the lower spine ....... anybody know what Im on about ? :o anyway it didnt work either :D so I've given up trying to find a cure and have since found out a few of the things that trigger it, and aviod them, its helped make life a bit easier.
I hope you get a dx soon, it does help to know what your up against.
