afternoon all-so many post since yesterday-really nice to see. We had more snow overnight so DH school closed so he is doing housework and making me tea and doing soup for tea -hes a darling.
Took myself to town yesterday afternoon and arrived back very down as could barley drag myself around and the pain in my back and leg/hip was excruciating and seems to have set off flare as feet had the concrete boot feeling and was exhausted. Its a week since my hip jab and not improved so doom and gloom has set in!
I go to a support group once a month and like Jamala said its good to meet others -like it is on here.We meet in a lovely venue -warm and comfy luckily.
Kass DD = Dear Daughter etc -when l first saw it was totally foxed too!
Hope everyone is keeping as warm as possible. We have had more snow and more expected later.
    hugs to all
Is the rumour true then BZ 'S getting married!!!

re: people working im not sure if this only applies to me, but i think because i dont really have a choice about working... i still can?? the days i dont do anything i sort of allow myself to give in to the pains?? when i was first dx i wasnt able to claim ib as id had time off unpaid when i had ds2 so had a missing time of nat ins and i was told i couldnt claim other things as dh worked?. Now im not sure if i would be able to claim or not but we couldnt really manage without my wage if i couldnt claim anything? have i just waffled on yet again talking aloud?? yep i think i have

jamla im glad you get on well with your fibro group :) i tried one years ago and im afraid they depressed me :o it was all what they couldnt do, thats why i like this thread, quick whinge about pains today then we talk about other things ;)

BZ I have just realised that I am just as guilty of being ageist as all the !!!!!! that make those stupid comments. I was shocked (that's maybe a little strong a word for it!) that you were younger than me. So I must have subconsiously made myself the youngest in the world to have it

I know what you mean about being proud and I annoy myself with it. There is nothing wrong with being in a wheelchair so why do I feel so funny about it?
I'm guilty of it too Kassandra. I accused Unity of being around my age as she mentioned she'd been dxd at Uni (yes, it was Unity)...however, she then came clean that she was there as a mature student ;)

Trialia is 23 (I think she said??) and RoxsiScotland (who's been MIA for a few weeks now...) is about the same age. So there are a few (now) of us that are a bit younger :)

I annoy myself too. A lot. I hate that I'm as bad as my Dad was/is...but alas, it appears that I am indeed my father's daughter

Ok, I need you all to explain your language on here. What is ikswim or whatever. Also, I understand when you put ds or dd you are relating to son daughter but what is the d for?
Hehe, I had to work it out too. Cwta has helpfully explained IYSWIM/IYKWIM and I always read DS/DD/DH as Dearest Son/Daughter/Husband. Dx flummoxed me for a day or two, til my brain clicked on  Any others baffling ya?

Well, I should have some properly functioning heating now...! He came round and faffed with it all and promised faithfully that it'll be working properly now, but I'm leaving it on while I have some tea at MIL2B's with OH and will give my verdict then ;) The guy that came round wasn't the landlord but apparently knows him and will be calling him tonight, so I asked him to mention the mystery of why I don't have a shelf in my oven?! Or where the switch, or whatever, is to make the outside light work? He said I wasn't asking for much, lol. I didn't think heating, the ability to wash&wash up/clothes and cook was asking for much too. Plus the burglar alarm doesn't work and I'm hoping that the guy's coming tomorrow night for that as I'm blatantly not there tonight! :rotfl:

Hi Penny-Pincher  Welcome to our merry band :)

Of course you can join in!! Although we all have various conditions, the main things we have in common (apart from pain etc) are having a laugh and being supportive, so I hope you find some support here too... I know I have!

For some reason the thread is a bit quiet tonight...maybe there's something interesting on tele ;)

suep I know! I was trying to work it out for ages!!

Do you have to be pushed in your wheelchair?

I wouldn't have the strength to wheel it myself but wouldn't want to have to rely on having someone else with me.

    xxxx

It was Unity who was dx when she was at Uni ;) No I havn't got the strength to push myself in the wheelchair I dont go out unless theres someone to push me, OH, my kids although dd cant at the moment becuase of her bad back and ds1 is about 6ft 5 and gets a bad back bending down to push me as its too low for him :D My Mum is going to push me tomorrow, I have a hospital app first thing and she is going to come along and then push me around town as I need to get some bits for my boys birthdays, 1 on the 23rd and 1 on the 28th of this month  cant believe how old they are it makes me feel old ds1 will be 27 and dd2 will be 24 ! where did the time go

    Welcome Pennypincher:hello:

CWTA thanks for the translations for ikywim and the other one, it's so obvious now you've told us :o

raeh it must be lovely to have hubby back, especially if he brings nice pressies ;) I saw Dad on Tuesday, his hairs getting a bit thin and hes had it cut really short but he wasn't too bad, his last session was today, I will give him a couple of days to recover before I call him again.

Sharon I hope your feeling better soon, you sound like you could do with a scooter too.

I used to go to a local support group, im still a member and get their magazine but the meetings are too far away and it just got too much, also they had guest speakers who were usually expensive therapists I couldnt afford anyway.
