Jamla, we're getting lots more people posting on here, but seem to mainly be one-off posts. Nice though iykwim.
I had another beggered up night tonight and eventually gave up. I'll have to have a snooze later.
BZ, I do hope you get your heating etc sorted - it's been nigh on a week now!

Well I never! A phan! I went to Worldcon in '79 - the one with the slogan - 'Britain is Fine in '79. Met Tom Baker (who bought me a drink), Richard O'Brien and the special guest was Christopher Reeve. I get the feeling though that in those days it was much more about books and films rather than TV, with people like Mike Moorcock and Christopher Priest - not to mention of course Keith Roberts (Pavane and The Furies).

You've got me all nostalgic now

    Hi Jamla,

I hope yours is held somewhere suitable. Ours used to be in the upstairs room of a very old country pub - with of course very steep stairs . Whoever booked it just didn't think it through :D.

CWTA "People don't always seem to notice you and you're just at arm swinging height."
We could turn that to our advantage in crowded places as we would be just at bum pinching height :D Who would ever suspect the slow minded disabled person in a wheelchair :rotfl:

I've never been to a group but i've recently met a woman who doesn't live too far from me. I met her on a pagan site I go on and she has invited me to join her at her local group. I'm really pleased as I'm such a chicken nowadays. I never used to be like that either.

BZ I have just realised that I am just as guilty of being ageist as all the !!!!!! that make those stupid comments. I was shocked (that's maybe a little strong a word for it!) that you were younger than me. So I must have subconsiously made myself the youngest in the world to have it

I know what you mean about being proud and I annoy myself with it. There is nothing wrong with being in a wheelchair so why do I feel so funny about it?

Ok, I need you all to explain your language on here. What is ikswim or whatever. Also, I understand when you put ds or dd you are relating to son daughter but what is the d for?

Trialia what is the SF ball?

Kassandra, the d as in ds or dd stands for dear I think , but Im really glad you asked about ikyim or whatever it is as I kept meaning to ask too, I cant make head or tail of it

I dont like going in the wheelchair at all, its not as bad if we are in another town, but I get embarressed if Im in my own town and bumb into someone I havn't seen for ages. I never used to use it so much, it's sort of crept up on me, Im determined once the weather improves that I will start going for little walks to gradually build my strength up again.

suep I know! I was trying to work it out for ages!!

Do you have to be pushed in your wheelchair?

I wouldn't have the strength to wheel it myself but wouldn't want to have to rely on having someone else with me.
