One of the beneficial side effect of having a duff internet connection is that it gives you time to do other things. So... I got me cardi finished and had enough yarn left over to make a wee short sleeved jumper to go with it.
For those who have very sharp eyesight, you'll notice that the pattern up the front of the purple cardigan is slightly different to the pattern up the front of the lilac cardigan. I cannot for the life of me work out why, but when I made the purple one I could not keep the pattern correct so found another pattern with a similar design and cobbled the two together. Still can't work out why I had so much trouble with it the first time round, but when I started on the lilac one, it was much easier. That's not to say that I didn't spend the usual amount of time frogging but this time I was able to see where I was going wrong without too much trouble.

Do you have a motobility scheme in your local town? You could get a lecky scooter from them and at least get out on your own.
I would need the car part as well. I live too far away from the town to go on a scooter. Do you mean the shopmobility scheme ? I live in a village in between 2 towns, the nearest town is rubbish and we dont bother going there if we can help it, the 2nd one is lovely and does have shopmobility there about 3 days a week, I did use them a couple of years ago and had forgotten about the tbh, they changed their days and it got a bit confusing but I will see if I've still got the phone number for them. Thanks for reminding me it would be cheaper than buying one.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

Lovely jumper and cardi s/e, I love the colour and the pattern, I havn't got sharp eyesight so didnt notice any differences. I am jealous of you creative people, I would love to be able to make things, but after several tries I've had to give up on knitting, me and knitting just dont get on
Welcome tjack

s/e, I meant to ask about the knitting and forgot
I can't see any difference between the design. But whe you've knitted it yourself, I'm sure it's different.
I got absolutely soaked today. Cheap brolly let me down and Tescos Ugg-knock offs didn't stand up to the rain (surprise, surprise). I hope there isn't a message there about my beloved cheapy bargains.
My moods are still terribly up and down and I suspect SAD is the cause, but I do wonder of the 36hrs that I was without anti-d's (I lost them!) has anything to do with it.
Just as a by-the-by, there is a local supplier here where you can hire wheelchairs - either manual or electric for just a day or a week. I found this invaluable when I went to Cornwall County Show as there is no way I could have lasted out otherwise. Was surprised how vulnerable I felt in a wheelchair though. People don't always seem to notice you and you're just at arm swinging height.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

I bought one on impulse and have never looked back. It's so comfy and warm in the winter it's like lying on a cloud. And I have a medium firm proper mattress under it for support...once I get in with my leccky blanket and two kitty cats I don't want to get up.
I would like to try the temper mattress just to see how they feel, but the ones I've seen are quite pricey, will have to wait for that elusive lottery win :-)
One thing I have found with DS's bed is to put his summer duvet on as a mattress topper. It keeps him warmer and is useful, if like us you don't have a great deal of cupboard space for storing things. Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

evening
quick post as im so tired im away to bed soon, having to walk because of the snow is doing me in completely and has shown me if i didnt have the car i would never manage to work the few hours that i do
somebody recently talked about the total exhaustion thats far more than being tired? thats what i have today where every part of you feels so heaving and achy you just cant move itdh is back tomorrow night and i need to be feeling [and looking] brighter so he doesnt get me in full whinge mode when he steps through the door
unity im glad you got some answers at the gp, you used far too many big words for me though
s/e that cardigan is gorgeous, what a complicated looking pattern! i would never be able to see the patterns are different either
sue im sending positive thoughts for your dad and i hope his last session goes well
sharon do you still have snow? we have packed down snow niow which is worse as its ice!!
jamla glad to hear we bought the best sort of mattressbushbaby i bought one of the feather mattresses from QVC a couple of years ago and it was very very comfy but i got fed up of trying to shake it back inot shape as it got all squashed each night and was heavy for me to do? thats why we have just bought the new mattress before xmas and im going to make a cover for the feather one and fold it into a big floor cushion for the kids
kass i get pins and needles a lot in bed but i also get them when im just sat as well, sometimes i get very swollen fingers with it and sometimes its just the maddening tingling from my shoulders down.
CwtA i hope now you are taking the anti d's again that you feel brighter, hopefully we will get some sunshine again soon and things will seem better.

Erm... has the doc ever told you that morphine causes a reduction in your core temperature? When I was on the morphgesic my core temp dropped by a degree, and I was cold all year round. Now I'm off it, I do actually warm up occasionally.
Well, Ecclefechan! (I know it's not a swear word, it just sounds like one) No one has ever mentioned that, but I've just told DH and he said "Well at least we know now!"
Seriously S/E thank you so much for mentioning it :T. I don't mind putting up with things if I know what the cause is. It's when you feel like you are gradually turning into a corpse by degrees (no pun intended) and wonder if you are going mad! Well in my case it is probably a bit of both:rotfl:.
I'm off to have a look at your knittingthen I am going to close this down and continue with my ever decreasing circles (yoke on DH sweater).
Glad you found the new thread Kassandra.
CWTA - sorry to hear you are still very up and down, but know what you mean. Another thing the GP said was to increase the Prozac to 40mg - however I've told him I'll just do this on alternate days and hope to get back down to 20mg as soon as things improve.
Welcome Tjak. I was dxd during my first year at university (mature student;)). I managed to get my degree but had to split my work placement fortnight into two separate weeks and even then it became evident I would not be able to manage full-time on a permanent basis.
Hope everyone has a good night - well, as good as it gets.

ill try and pop in and keep up the next couple of weeks, but really depends on if the kids nap or not during the day.0 -

As for snow, ours was gone by the end of the day yesterday. It's still ridiculously cold though and i'm still without fully functioning heating, which aggrieves me somewhat! They tell me there's someone coming round tomorrow night...but I'm not holding my breath... They should be coming doing the burglar alarm either tomorrow night or the night after too... (I refer to previous statement) Other than that the house is coming on well though and I'm flitting between overdoing it and doing sweet FA... It feels like a home far more than my last house does and I managed to get the spare room bed up and things shuftied around so it looks more like a spare bedroom now
Not sure where the rest of the stuff will go that I moved outta there to do it though! :rotfl:
Kassandra I do get the pins and needles thing, and the numbness, and the trapped nerve type thing... which, I'm grateful to say, all have been reduced since taking Amy-tripped-over and the lyrica/pregabalin.
I'm 27 in April and I know what you mean about the fraudulent feeling of going for a mobility scooter or whatever. I've often threatened OH that next time we go to Ikea etc he'll have to push me round in a wheelchair... but I don't know that I'd actually go through with it... which annoys me cos it makes me as bad as my dad before he'd had his quadruple heart bypass and was too proud to do stuff like that! I do get a really horrid pain up through my heels and into my ankles when I've been on my feet/walking too long though and it takes hours and hours to go away...so maybe I should take heed, eh?
I'm sure there was someone else I was supposed to respond to....? ah yes, Tjak I lost my job when I first got properly ill (tonsilitis for 4 months, the effects of which never really went away) and haven't worked since (now just over 2yrs). I think sometimes that I could work, but then I realise that there's no way I could do the type of work I did before as it would involve too much walking and extremes of temperature (health & food safety)... and the desk type jobs I just don't have the brain for these days cos I can't concentrate properly for it anymore. If I found something that would be a good fit with the symptoms (whatever that would be!!) then I'd obviously try it, but it would be tricky to find that ideal job... I'd love to go back to working but I am convinced now that I need to learn to manage my condition (a phrase I've always hated ) with lifestyle and meds first. [But remember, I also have MEandnot just Fibro.]
And as for you lot stirring... I think it's time for another bulletin!!:
Bigzippy is getting married September 2009!!!
:T:j:T:j:T
:rotfl:Just for you guys
