Cwtch is pronounced cutch with the 'u' sound butter. Its a very useful word as it describes everything from a friendly warming hug to full on hanky-panky :D

i really would love an adjustable bed :( we talked about it after buying a new memory foam topped mattress which  is ok but still not brilliant. Its the idea of being able to move it to get up rather than heaving myself up in a morning i love :D

My mother got one of those tempur mattresses and raved about it. I've slept on it twice and never slept so badly in my life. Apart from the fact that it radiates heat back at you (considering I feel the cold quite seriously, that shouldn't be a problem but I was so hot I couldn't sleep), there's also the issue of sinking down into it and not being able to change position during the night.

The adjustable bed, with a proper sprung mattress, on the other hand is wonderful. I would give it serious consideration Raeh. I would also suggest going to a bed shop and trying one out (lie down on it for half an hour to see how comfy you are - don't just sit on it or lie down for 10 minutes, it's not a long enough test). One of the reasons I've taken so long to get around to this is because I was going to lose quite a lot of storage space under the bed, but my local supplier does them on legs rather than a divan base so I've now got 3, wheeled storage boxes under there instead. (The woman I bought it from actually suggested, when I asked about getting one with a drawer in, that it would work out cheaper and give me a lot more storage to buy a couple of these boxes instead. There's a saleswoman I'd recommend to anyone else looking at a new bed.)

  • Ooh la la! Was woken at 7am by upstairs lass running round the flat yelling "we've got more snow!" She was so excited bless. I wasn't so impressed as I needed to catch up on sleep from the night before, so went back to bed after a couple of cups of tea.
It's is sunny here, with clear blue skies and the snow is slowly melting, but I suspect we'll have more once the late afternoon is here.
The adjustable beds sound wonderful - so pleased that you are enjoying yours s/e.
And it is lovely to have you back.
I think I may break the habit of a lifetime and walk down into town so I can enjoy the altered views.
Unity, I hope you found the GP visit successful. I'm afraid my memories of school rice pud has put me off for life. Maybe it's time to try it again - after all, I'm now a big lover of Liver and Sprouts and I never thought that would happen!
sharon, I bet DD is all proud of herself for driving in the snow .

...Wow. Took Lyrica and dihydrocodeine last night, and I'm actually properly awake for the first time in years - that feels good! :D

Just popped into say Hi  and let you know I did find the new shiny thread.

Hopefully the landlord will've bled all the radiators by the time I get back from picking up OH from one work and dropping him off at work no. 2 (complete with regulation black shirt which I had to wash, dry and iron today...) so off I pop... I'll be back (Alsta La Vista Baby! ;))

s/e and unity the adjustable beds sound heaven, but well out of my price range at the moment, o/h hasnt got over the shock of shelling out for the new sofa yet :D We brought one of the memory foam mattress's last year after the dog ripped up my memory foam topper and although I loved it at first, I hate it now. It wasn't one of the expensive ones and is basically a couple of inches of memory foam on top of normal foam, and as s/e said it's boiling hot even for me and I feel the cold like most of us do, o/h hates it and often has to fetch a towel to lie on as he's sweating so much.

We were talking about a holiday today and are in 2 minds of it this year. Last year dd looked after the house and dog as both ds1&2 have both left home now, when we got back the house was filthy and there was piles of washing waiting to be done despite me warning her to get hers out of the way as I was bringing loads back. She's promised to be better this year but I dont trust her she's a lazy moo, also our dog will be 11 this year and although healthy is getting more clingy and nervous in her old age, she wont even eat her dinner until o/h gets home from 2nd job in evening so we dont want to leave her, especially to dd's care and attention
