I have submitted my ppi claim, received a letter back saying I can have it back! yay... I wondered how long it would take until I receive my money! I will submit it as a success story when I have but just wondering how long it will take, It has been 4 weeks since I had the letter saying I can have my money back. thanks

Hi angelcake, I know that they are busy but Di3004 has won against these and maybe be able to give you a time scale. Some firms are taking ages and others a couple of weeks.

Well done on your win though.;)

Thank you, I wondered whether the success was due to the address I sent it to, My sister is with the same company and sent it to a different address and 2 weeks before me and had nothing back yet!

  • Hello. I complained to NatWest about PPI put on three loans, totalling £7,000.

This was in January 2009. Natwest refunded me £5,400 two months later (with no interest added and no admission of liability), making me sign forms saying this was "in full and final settlement)
BUT at the same time I complained to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FoS), asking for interest and the full amount to be refunded i.e the £7,000 plus interest.
This week, almost a year later from my original complaint, FoS has agreed my complaint should be upheld with interest etc.
But as I've already accepted the NatWest offer and been paid the money, is NatWest obliged to pay the extra money following the FoS ruling on my case?

I think the FOS has in the past instructed companys to relook at cases even if a full and final acceptance has been signed

Hi there angelcake, Well done to you.

Right with mine it was resolved through the FOS, mine had taken if I remember correctly from accepting and signing about a month after, this was last year, and one of hubbys was roughly the same, he have just succeeded in another through the FOS, and a month have already passed, we have chased this up, but by going by many posters recently Lloyds have been taken longer due to the volumes of refunds they are dealing with which is more than ever, about 11-12 weeks approx.

Hope you receive yours very soon, fingers crossed.;)

  • I've got a claim in against First Plus for 2 loans, however, the day the 8 week period was up I received a letter from them saying they need another 8 weeks, but I am now entitled to go to the Financial Ombudsman however they hope that I don't.

My question is that, I take it I should raise it with the Ombudsman, but should I notify First Plus that I've done it? Is it liable to push them to a settlement?
