Please can you tell me where to find the template letter for broker/insurer.
I have tried to contact the broker but would apear that he has left the country!
The ppi was with Scotttish Provident, I contacted them first and they then told me to contact the broker. What should I do next? Please help.
I think either dreamer33 or incipience may be able to answer this one for you. If you take a look back we are waiting for the legalisation to be posted up. We were always lead to believe that the complaint was against the broker. Then others have said the "lender" instead. or even the insurer. If you take a look back over posts on here you will see how this is done. I don't have any idea myself but others do.

I hope you get the result you want. Sorry to have not been of any more help but like I say take a look back. Its not too far either as this new thread has only just started.;)
  • Well I have rang the FOS regarding the offer (as no amount given in letter!) and have been told that I should receive all of the PPI back plus the interest and 8% compensation.

From the letter from them it read as though I had paid the loan off early (which I hadn't and I did explain this to them) so I've signed the settlement form but put a letter in that I saw the loan to the full term.

Can someone offer me some advice though, in the letter it states that I get 8% per annum simple from the redemption date to the redress date so is that a one off 8% or 8% per year from the date I paid the final instalment to now?

    Thanks :-)

This is how my redress from them was worked out. They came to the figure that I was due back (yours would be the full PPI and interest) and then they would add 8% statutory interest on to it per year. This can be worked out from the bank charges calculator. If you put in the amount of the PPI and interest added together and then put the date of the settlement it will work out for you approximately how much "simple" interest you will get.

    The link is here

Schroll down and you will come to the calculator bit. Good luck

    Hi Moonflower

I would write to both, kill 2 birds with one stone sort of thing, I take it you were only told this verbally?

Wonder is Scottish Power are now run by someone else or maybe stopped trading, I will try to check on this or someone will confirm this for you, but if they have stopped trading you may have to take this to the Financial compensation scheme, they should be able to confirm if they have the company on the list, here is the link here:
    http://www.fscs.org.uk/consumer/

You should find the contact details there and also check out the lists, or you can write the name of the company in the box to check this out.

As soon as you have this confirmed let us know so we know which direction we can take this, maybe then it will be time to move on to the broker, if the other company are still running, write to both and and see what they say.

I am sure someone will post up at some point, good luck.

    Hi moonflower

If you search under the username Incipience there are lots of information regarding Broker/Lender issues. There is no template letter for this, however Incipience has explained the issues surrounding Broker/Lender issues.

I myself complained to the Lender and I was passed to the Broker and was fobbed off however after reading posts by incipience my eyes have been opened.

    Who was the broker?

Good luck moonflower (I love your username):T

Have a dumb !!!! questions, I brought my car from WJ kings who also sold me the PPI insurance but the insurance policy is with Blue Motor Finance. Who do I send my first letter to..?

Also regarding my LLoyds TSB PPI claim heard back from the Ombudsman this morning that LLoyds are appealing against the judgement, so now I have to wait for it to be reviewed again, more waiting.

Mmmm.............. send them both one and see what comes back to you. I am little unsure on this one:o

Hopefully you wont wait too long for your Lloyds complaint, fingers crossed you win this one. Its soo annoying the waiting game.

I see your point dreamer33 but what if the lender then refers the complaint to the broker? What do you do then? Can you then take this to the FOS? How do you get FOS to accept this complaint worded correctly?

    What happens next?

It is quite possible that they may hand the letter over to the broker.

The posts by incipience are very imformative and you could gather enough information to put in a letter for the lender. You would also need to word it carefully in order that they did not pass it onto the broker. Being one step ahead all the time.

Its worth a try, I am not sure myself marshallka about FOS this is something that would need to be dealt with should any one need to go there.

I'm just taking onboard what incipience has posted as it has really opened my eyes up and its important to try all angles with regards to any complaint.

Just joined today but have been reading this thread with interest for a couple of months!! Sent letter #1 to Northern crock a couple of weeks ago and requested copies of my agreement etc. all I got was the form they send out. I phoned them up and got some details for the form and have posted it back, so I await their response:rolleyes:

i was just wondering if it's worth contacting Egg as well?? I cancelled the payment protection thing (or whatever they call it) before Christmas, got £8k on the card and it was an extra £70+ per month going on to the balance!!!! Is it worth sending the letter in to them to try and reclaim as I've had a similar balance on that card on and off for 6 ish years? I can't remember what process of application I went thru tho?? Will that go against me??

    Hi and welcome

Yes go for it with EGG if you believe you have a case here.

They may try to use things against you but fight your ground and keep at them. Good luck.;)

    Hi All

I'm not sure if my case may just have broken some sort of record on here, but Northern Crock have offered payment already!!! They agreed I was mis sold and had fallen short of the high standard of service I had a right to expect!! Been paying it for 31 months and have paid £1,355 so I get that plus 8% back. Not bad for 20min on here and a couple of stamps!! Next job is to hit Egg with a SAR request and then see if I can get some money back from them as well!!!

Big thank you to everyone for their direct advice or just for posting on here.
