  • Hi, I have just had a reply from First Plus, I didn't have any paperwork I just sent them a letter together with my name, addresses and date of birth and requested the original loan agreement. I have had a reply with the loan agreement number on it but I'm having trouble at the minute becuase they are saying I didn't have the PPI agreement, like yourself they wouldn't let me have the loan without it.Let me know if they say the same to you and if it is handwritten or not. Send the template letter requesting paperwork.

If it was me - I would go to FOS now, they may have a backlog of these they are sitting on. Involvement from the FOS might be the kick up the rear needed to get them to sort it

Others have paid so why cant they - I doubt they are rummaging under the sofa cushions for spare change

    Thats just my opinion though

Incipience would you be able to post the Broker/lender issues up as a new thread for those not knowing whom to complain to about the sale of the ppi.

Hello Icipience, hope you are having a good weekend.

There have been a few threads by posters saying they took out PPI because FirstPlus said it would help get the loan. But when they contact them about mis selling Firstplus say they didnt take out the PPI , have you come cross this before?

Yes, I would like to see this too. Perhaps then Martin could update his guide.;)

Stage 1. Write to your lender
Write a letter to the company that sold you the policy asking for a refund. There’s no need to specify the amount as the lender will calculate this for you, just explain that you think the insurance was missold, that you are writing to complain and you want your money back.
If the seller was acting as an appointed representative of the insurance provider, it will probably tell you to contact the provider instead. Use the address of the branch you visited for your first letter; any follow up can be sent to the head office if necessary.
To help, below is a full template letter to select the most relevant points. You should also enclose copies of any paperwork that backs up your case and send the letter by recorded delivery, keeping a copy yourself.

Perhaps when a company is outside of jurisdiction then there are other ways.

If they dont have PPI then I cant see what the argument is. If FIRSTPLUS are admitting that the person does not have PPI then why would they be paying for it..

    Something odd here.
