Hi all
Just joined today but have been reading this thread with interest for a couple of months!! Sent letter #1 to Northern crock a couple of weeks ago and requested copies of my agreement etc. all I got was the form they send out. I phoned them up and got some details for the form and have posted it back, so I await their response:rolleyes:
i was just wondering if it's worth contacting Egg as well?? I cancelled the payment protection thing (or whatever they call it) before Christmas, got £8k on the card and it was an extra £70+ per month going on to the balance!!!! Is it worth sending the letter in to them to try and reclaim as I've had a similar balance on that card on and off for 6 ish years? I can't remember what process of application I went thru tho?? Will that go against me??
Hi and welcome
Yes go for it with EGG if you believe you have a case here.
They may try to use things against you but fight your ground and keep at them. Good luck.;)
Hi All
I'm not sure if my case may just have broken some sort of record on here, but Northern Crock have offered payment already!!! They agreed I was mis sold and had fallen short of the high standard of service I had a right to expect!! Been paying it for 31 months and have paid £1,355 so I get that plus 8% back. Not bad for 20min on here and a couple of stamps!! Next job is to hit Egg with a SAR request and then see if I can get some money back from them as well!!!
Big thank you to everyone for their direct advice or just for posting on here.
:T :T :T Brilliant news about Northern Rock well done:T :T :T
I have just received my SAR from EGG they do not send you telephone calls then when you request them they may tell you they did not record your calls, good luck with this and well done again.:T :T:wave:0 -
It is quite possible that they may hand the letter over to the broker.
The posts by incipience are very imformative and you could gather enough information to put in a letter for the lender. You would also need to word it carefully in order that they did not pass it onto the broker. Being one step ahead all the time.
Its worth a try, I am not sure myself marshallka about FOS this is something that would need to be dealt with should any one need to go there.
I'm just taking onboard what incipience has posted as it has really opened my eyes up and its important to try all angles with regards to any complaint.
I have not gone on about it as I do not but it would certainly help quite a few. And also of where to go too if the lender just refers you back again.;)0 -
Incipience wrote: »Yes, that is what I am saying. However you have to argue your point. In a call to the FOS a couple of weeks ago, I reiterated my argument that I was in no way able to know what or who was responsible, and that all the documentation pointed to the Lender.
Furthermore I questioned if the lender has no responsibility then why refer me to the FOS, by that they are admiting some liability in the transaction.
I was then told that if I outlined my complaint as such, then they would have no choice but to send to an adjudicator.
Their words NOT mine.
This was insipience explaining how to get the FOS to take notice of a complaint against the lender.DS1 12/10/04

Isipience is so clever she is going to be able to help so many who have given up hope and been fobbed off by lenders.DS1 12/10/04

You may want to ask incipience that question regarding a letter.
I love the posts by incipience and it does make you look at this whole process from a different angle, its very easy to understand too. I totally understand what incipience is saying, however I think you need to be asking incipience the question regarding a letter as they are more expert than me.;)
If you look back and re-read the posts its very easy to understand what incipience is saying. I am viewing the info based on my claim, it may well be appropriate for other posters too, I read it like that anyway.:wave:0 -
This was insipience explaining how to get the FOS to take notice of a complaint against the lender.
I have also complained to the FOS about this matter too of not referring my initial complaint for the rebate to the insurer as they told me to do. I have held both Firstplus and FOS responsible for this. Don't know where I stand but surely both had a duty in all fairness to send me to the correct firm to make the complaint to. Treating customers fairly.
And also made a complaint to the FOS about telling people they have to go to the "seller" of the insurance when that is wrong according to here.
Seems everyone is misleading everyone on this. I just don't know what is the correct information. And also made a complaint to the FOS about them saying you do not have to a legal person to make a complaint. I made mine pretty straight forward as I thought (for an non professional!!) and they did not understand. Perhaps you do have to know the law then!!!0 -

I asked what about if both the lender and the broker say its the broker and then the FOS agree!!
As you "understand" this dreamer33, (I don't!!) then perhaps you can elaborate for others.0 -
I have a question for you PPI experts out there. Been reviewing my finances lately and successfully claimed my PPI back (thanks ).
Just found out that my hubby has PPI on an egg loan
we are about to enter into a debt management program .... Should hubby tell egg this when he asks for the PPI to be repayed...or do we waite for the debt management to take effect befor we reclaim the PPI
Cheers:beer:0 -
If the Egg loan is part of the DMP then I think Egg would know this. And if there was any repayment then I believe the money would be taken off the arrears.DS1 12/10/04
