Thanks for the reply!
It does actually say on the letter I received from Loyds TSB that they will action the refund to me as soon as they receive the accepteance sheets from me.
It's a good point about the backlogs, I may give them another couple of weeks and then get on the phone to them.
Thanks again.
Fingers crossed that you will not be waiting too long now odyysey.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

More than a bit cheesed off about this as it's been over 2 years now, and I really had though it would all be sorted by the end of this year, but I really can't see that happening now.
It feels like nothing but lies and excuses all the time.

Bloody hell, thats ridiculous!
Is the two years starting from when u submitted a claim to them or from when they offered you the refund? Surely the FOS would take harsher steps against them now and demand your money be refunded back to you ASAP?0 -
Have had ppi since 1999 and have successfully claimed back PPI payments from 2003 – 2009 from MBNA who took over my CC from Alliance & Leicester so I thought I would try and claim back the previous years from 1999 to 2002 from Alliance & Leicester and have received the following response from my first letter from them:
‘I would like to take this opportunity to advise that under the statue of limitations we do not hold records for longer than six years. As such I am unable to access any records regarding these payments and cannot agree to reimburse you with the premiums paid for the PPI.’
Could anyone advise me? Should I ignore this letter and send the second stage letter, if so what should I say.
Thanks so much for your help.0 -

I havent been on here for some time, but always reading new topics, i have sent off the 1st template letters to egg, natwest, A&L & in the process of sending a few more, we have had a few credit cards over the years & all have had PPI added, we did cancel the natwest & A&L PPI a few months back after realising what it was! & hoping now to hear something,
We also took out a Natwest loan 2 years ago which is still currently running, at the time we refused the PPI & we were told that 2% had been added to the loan beacuse we never took out the PPI, i wonder whether we could claim this back too?? the loan is still ongoing at the moment with approx £3000 or just under left to pay, has anyone else had this done before?
Thank youDont get Ripped off by banks, stash your money under the floor boards0 -

Also you can always use the courts for a complaint but this works like this and also FOS works in a similar way.
If a complaint is made against a firm from 6 years previous or longer then the firm can ask it be thrown out of court under the limitations act BUT you can argue this as follows
You would normally have 6 years to make a complaint through the courts and this can be reduced to 3 years if you should have reasonably been aware of the complaint BUT there is a section 32 (which is like FOS can use above) whereby if you only just became aware of a problem then you can still use the courts.0
