if you only received a low rebate on early redemption I'd put a claim in against the insurance underwriter - do you have the paperwork for when you paid off your loan in 2007?

Yes I have the settlement figure letter from the lender, and yes it was a very low rebate if I remember correctly.

    Hi Di
Yes very well thanks, hope you are too.

I have phoned a few time but always get the same answer "still waiting to go to an adjudicator" and "there is no time frame when this will happen"

I do know that Ocean are reviewing the case after being asked to by the FOS but that was two months ago and I don't know if all work on the case at the FOS comes to a stop while they do this, again they have said there is no time frame for this review, so it could be another six weeks or another six months, I just don't know. I think thats what's getting to me.
I have also been waiting for over a year now and still none the wiser. I have rang them again this week and still no clearer as to when they can look into this. I was assured in July that this would be dealt with quickly though as I had complained about being messed about when I sent the rebate complaint in really in may of last year. It then took 3 more attempts against the wrong firm so they said before they actually told me who to direct the complaint to. I asked for them to take this into considersation and they said they would check the file. When I next spoke to the manager he then said and assured me it would be dealt with very soon (like I say in July) and now they say they have no idea how long this will take. You are not alone in your frustration...;)

Just wish I knew how to get my complaints through sooner...

It's not so much the waiting that gets me(although I do think cases are taking too long to get sorted) it's the lack of information from the FOS, five months from their last letter is not good enough, and the people on the phones don't really know anything they just give the same answers.

  • i'm really confused i'm being hassled by first line regarding claiming back ppi on a mortgage i had, and a secured loan both of which had ppi. We've since remortgaged and consolidated the two with another company. This was approx 18 months ago. so as both have been paid off can i still claim?
Also when we took out the loan which was with paragon finance (ouch) they told us we had to have payment protection and that if we didn't claim in the next 10 years we would get all the payments back which i'm pretty sure i've got about as much chance off as a lottery win.
Do i need to prove this because i've checked on my old paperwork and can't find any where were it says they would refund my payments after 10 years but i know they did because this was how we originally planned to pay the loan up in ten years and not the term of 15.as the lenders had adviced this as we only wanted it on a ten year term Someone please help!

    Hi
I am currently awaiting an offer from welcome finance and have emailed the FOS chasing it up as welcome have had my acceptance since begining of September and the FOS have replied saying that it is currently taking 8-10 weeks and they are taking on extra resources to reduce the back log, so should hear any day now,
Now i am starting on a loan i had with the old woolwich i know its now barclays but does anyone know the address for old woolwich loan as i know they still do mortgages or just send it to barclays??
    Thanks

    Good luck with this then.;)

Found the details of the Woolwich here:

    WOOLWICH LIMITED
    1 CHURCHILL PLACE
    LONDON
    E14 5HP
If they are linked together maybe you could address it to Barclays.

    Good luck with this.
