Hi there
Hope your feeling better now hun.;)
I think the postal strikes have had a lot to do with the delays this time......but I would just give them a quick ring, they must confirm this to you if you ask.
Then take it from there, if they have not yet even finished investigating your complaint yet, you do have that choice of going to the FOS.
Not unless you discretly give them say about one more week (if you want to that is).
Good luck hope you receive some good news soon.;)
Hi Di,
Just to let you know that I phoned both Banks. Direct Line said they were in the middle of dealing with the claim & that I should hear within a week. So I will leave it for another week as Friday is their 8 week deadline. The Clydesdale said it had not been dealt with yet as they have been running a few weeks behind but that I should def hear within the next 2 weeks. This is now just over eight weeks so do I wait or should I refer to the Fos?
Thanks, Gill0 -

Hi Gill
It is up to you again, but maybe give it those 2 weeks then because if the postal reasons as well, then if you hear nothing then yes defo move on to the FOS.
And I think they do have large volumes of these complaints to deal with, so its possibly they are dealing with so many at the same time, its cheaper posting for them this way I expect.;)
I do hope though you hear sooner rather than later.
Fingers crossed.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Should i ring them and ask if this is their final response to the earlier loan then or what do you suggest, on my loan agreement that im talking about was dated 2001 this was to consolidate another loan with them as it states refinancing amount etc...:o
I am saying all this in the hope that Citifinancial were within the old Banking Ombudsman (which was before the FOS) or even a GISC member. I would certainly not be told by them that this is not within time limits. I would let FOS tell you that if needs be.
Do write though and try not to call if you can help it.
Good luck0 -

If you have the information for the 2001 loan and it goes to FOS as this was paid off to take another loan then FOS would probably consider this one too. I would tell them you want ALL the complaint looking at which includes the 2001 loan and see what they say. Say you are prepared to let the FOS look into it otherwise and for them to decide if its time barred or not. How can they say that all the others are missold and not that one? If they agree to the others then its certainly unfair to omit this one.

Hi
I today received a letter from RBS saying they wish to call me next week regarding my PPI claim from my NatWest loan taken out few years ago. At the time the staff member dealing with me said I had to have the PPI to get the loan agreed (Mis-selling as I understand it!)
Also as the loan was to consolidate other card debts one card balance wasnt included in her sums otherwise the loan would have not been agreed due to that reason anyway! They have sent copies of my agreements both loan and PPI that I have signed so do I speak to them or continue to correspond by letter?
Im worried I may get caught out in conversation and would rather use the template letters etc to ensure I can get some form of refund I firmly believe im entitled to or should I use the opportunity to explain the situation with the staff member not including the extra card debt when credit scoring me? An oversight which has in fact ended up with me owing a lot more than I would ever have, had the loan been declined at the time and me dealing with my debts sooner rather than a much more expensive later!!!
I would welcome any thoughts out there???0 -

Hello there
In "my" personal opinion I would try to keep everything in writing, I have heard lots lately of banks wanting to talk to customers on the phone.
It is up to you if you want to discuss these matters on the phone, but if you do ask them to send everything in writing as well, in case you need to refer to your details at a later date.
They may try to talk these matters through and try to come to a conclusion on the phone, if this is the case, tell them you will need to think about it and get back to them.
But otherwise write to them and request they send all correspondence in writing, tell them what you want out of this in writing.
Good luck with this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hello Everyone
I havent been on here for some time, but always reading new topics, i have sent off the 1st template letters to egg, natwest, A&L & in the process of sending a few more, we have had a few credit cards over the years & all have had PPI added, we did cancel the natwest & A&L PPI a few months back after realising what it was! & hoping now to hear something,
We also took out a Natwest loan 2 years ago which is still currently running, at the time we refused the PPI & we were told that 2% had been added to the loan beacuse we never took out the PPI, i wonder whether we could claim this back too?? the loan is still ongoing at the moment with approx £3000 or just under left to pay, has anyone else had this done before?
Thank youDont get Ripped off by banks, stash your money under the floor boards0 -
