Yes I had to go through MCOL with GE Money but that was for charges and was successful. If you have a really strong case you should be fine. Have you written to them at all yet?

    Hi,

I have today received a letter back from Capital Bank (part of HBOS) regarding a PPI reclaim for Car Finance that I took out in 2005.

They have said that as the Finance was taken out from a dealer then there is nothing they can do and they have forwarded a letter of my complaint onto the dealer.

They also say that furture correspondance regarding this should be sent to the dealer. I am at a loose end now as to what to do. Shall I send another letter to Capital Bank? Any advice would be appreciated :)

The dealer will deal with it (lol ) for you. You don't have to contact Capital Bank anymore.

If the dealer sold you the PPI then Capital Bank are right to first pass this complaint on, do you know the dealer and the address to send a letter to, to ensure they receive your complaint?

Capital Bank have to send the complaint to the dealer and the dealer should contact the customer about it and take it from there.

    Thanks a lot everyone:beer:
Capital Bank said they would pass on the letter to them so I will wait to hear. I just thought maybe they were trying to pass the buck.

Once again thanks for all your help!
  • Can anyone help?
I originally sent a letter to Blemain Finance who replied saying that I should write to cean finance (the broker). I sent the same letter to Ocean Finance & Mortgages Ltd (as advised by Blemain Finance), but I have received a letter from them stating "Ocean Finance & Mortgages Ltd could not have played any role in the purchase of PPI cover. OFML was not incorporated unitl Sept 2003 and did not actively operate as a business entity until 14/01/05. We will however pass your complaint on to the approporiate parties".
Am I confused! Are Ocean finance and Ocean Finance & Mortgages Ltd two seperate entities?
Should I send another letter to Ocean finance although OFML said they would pass the complaint to the appropriate people?
Sorry it's quite long, but I figured that someone might know their tricks if they've had dealings with them.
    Thanks.

    Hello there

I think there are 2 different companies.
You could make sure on this by ringing the financial ombudsman service (FOS), who may confirm who should be dealing with your complaint.

Good luck and please let us know how you get on.;)
