PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

  • What happens to the non-PPI element though?

If the PPI complaint is valid and is upheld, then how can the non-PPI payments be valid as against an invalid balance?

e.g. if PPI was mis-sold, then my starting balance should have been £10k, not £11.7k

So, if every £42 (for example) out of every £242 payment is PPI, then I've made 7 payments of £200 towards the loan.

This should have started with a balance of £10k, so why is the balance not lower now?

I'm probably not making any sense at all.

Claim companys use the FOS as well so dont expect them to be any quicker.
agree 100% with pinknico, they do not do anymore than the fos can do, they do not have a magic wand to get you compo in a shorter time. if you want to use a claim company then go ahead, but i would not recommend one to you. good luck with this and keep us posted

Hi, I've never used this forum before so am hoping someone can help. I have 2 credit cards with Barclaycard held for about 10 years, I cannot remember when the ppi insurance was added but can remember it was after a phone call from them saying it was a new service that I had to subscribe to if I wanted to continue using there cards !!!!
I have never thought anymore about it till looking at this site the other day and realising it had been misold to me.
At the moment I am paying around £80.00 per month for the 2 cards on a total balance of £9,000. and am worried that cancelling the ppi and reclaiming the payments I have made will mean they can cancel my cards and ask for the balance to be repaid.
Can anyone advise as I am sure I have paid thousands for this and any repayment would be a great help in paying off the balance.
    Looking forward to any advice.

They are not allowed to take any negative action when you make a complaint and there are organisations you van complain to if this were to happen.
Go ahead and claim for mis selling stating that you were told you had to take the PPI and go from there. Good luck.

over the past years i have taken many loans from lloyds tsb. Along with loan protection. When taking out another loan i always received a letter saying that a 'loan insurance rebate was used to reduce the total outstading loan balance' of the previous loan. Being young i never really bothered to take any interest!! Does anyone think i am still eligible to claim back any ppi payed through these loan periods?

    Hi,

I have today received a letter back from Capital Bank (part of HBOS) regarding a PPI reclaim for Car Finance that I took out in 2005.

They have said that as the Finance was taken out from a dealer then there is nothing they can do and they have forwarded a letter of my complaint onto the dealer.

They also say that furture correspondance regarding this should be sent to the dealer. I am at a loose end now as to what to do. Shall I send another letter to Capital Bank? Any advice would be appreciated :)

If the dealer sold you the PPI then Capital Bank are right to first pass this complaint on, do you know the dealer and the address to send a letter to, to ensure they receive your complaint?
