Actually the Barclays one is quite a strange one. In the Sar they haven't inculded the PPI or any CCA. When i claimed the PPi they sent me the agreement with ticked manualy ppi option, which was not my hand writing. The agreement itself is for a mastercard but i got a visa. And on top of that it states i was employed which i have not been. The bad thing is i haven't checked it but signed and returned. I remember stating i was self employed on the phone though when i took the policy. Don't think i will pursue this one, as it clearly i stand no chance.
hi. i think you should go for this, as you were mis sold, dont be daunted by the fact of what you got back with your sar, you have ppi you cannot make a claim on

Hi all following my rejection letter with LTSB for my ccard, I phoned them up this morning to give them one more opportunity to disclose ppi info:

After informing I was complaining to FOS they said policy no would be card number and it was with Norwich Union, when asked if Norwich Union would know who I was, LTSB replied by saying they were not sure!!!!!

Phoned DSAR team back as still missing statements, cca and ppi information they stated that they always thought insurance was with London and Edinburgh.

Any one else had this experience?

    Thanks

    Hi Janey

Yes I believe many have, in this case you can contact the information commissioners office (ICO) if you want to and see what they suggest, here:
    https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx
They should help or at least advise on your best direction to take from here, good luck.;)

  • Looking For Some Help, Have Had A Rbs Credit Card Since 1996 Months Ago I Requested A Copy Of My Cca, This Was Eventually Sent And I Discovered I Had Not Ticked For Ppi But They Have Continued To Add This For 13 Years.
I Have Complained To Rbs Eventually They Replied And Have Said That As I Have Had The Account So Long It Is Up To Me To Raise These Concerns Within A Reasonable Amount Of Time , And Due To A Significant Amount Of Time Passing And Because I Have Not Complained Before They Are Unable To Complete An Investigation Into My Concerns.

Surely They Must Be Liable, Any Ideas On My Next Move???????

If its their final response then I would contact the FOS and see if they will accept the complaint.
  • Its their only response, they have also stated on their letter that The FOS may not be able to help because of the amount of time lapsed, they are also asking if I had any extenuating circumstances that prevented me from advisng them of my concerns before now I should provide them with these reasons!!!!!!!!!!!

Only FOS can tell you they cannot help. If they are/were covered and under FOS jurisdiction for the year you took this out (part of the banking ombudsman scheme perhaps, gisc etc) then they usually ask when you became aware of the misselling and if this was only recent then the 6 year rule can often be over ridden.

i would go for this, a lot of people took this insurance not knowing all the facts, the facts have now come to light and you have just become aware of mis sell, plus the fact you did not tick the ppi box is another reason to go for this, you dont know what the outcome will be , so go for it. you have nothing to lose, good luck and keep us posted
