Surely They Must Be Liable, Any Ideas On My Next Move???????

Beaniebabe any luck with telephone calls hun?
Have just got in from work and given the FSCS a call. They confirmed my case was being worked on but could not give a timescale stating there were many priority cases.
I asked how we would be paid out if we would be eligible to any refund and was informed that we would receive a cheque as this is the usual proceedure. I also asked if the FSCS would restructure our loan account or would all money be refunded direct to us to sort this out ourselves. He informed me that any funds would be made to us and FSCS would not be responsible for re structuring loan accounts now being held by target.
I don't think you need to worryLooks like its in hand. However it is interesting to know how they will work the refund out as there should be interest etc and it seems like they will be leaving it to us to decide if we want to use it to reduce the loan repayments. Looks good though!!!X
Will log on this evening am going out in a bit.;)0 -

Hi Beaniebabe thats really good newsabout the cheques coming to us. Thats a lot of good info from them how come when I ring I get the usual speel and a not so helpful person on the other end of the phone. I think when I need to ring again can I ask you to do it lol It will be interseting to find out how they work the refund out, also if we get anything for all the hassle, stress and financial difficulty we have suffered. Are you planning to pay your refund off your loan? i am very tempted to sod off abroad somewhere and not come back lol;)
Regarding the information I think it is pot luck who you get. I have also got little info from them at times. I also try not to beleive everything they say as you just never know. However the man I spoke to seemed very genuine and left me on hold whilst he looked into my claim. X:D0 -

I am not building my hopes up on a massive amount but whatever we get I have got to use some of the money to get myself straight, sort a couple of things out on the car and hopfully there might be enough left for a small treat. (A bar of chocolate or can of lager! Lol!!)

Good news about the cheque being sent to us....I hoped this was the case as the FSCS wouldn't want to get involved in loan restructing, but it's great to here it from the horses mouth..:D0 -
Hi
Looking for some advice. I submitted my SAR to HBOS last week. I am looking for info re a loan that was paid off in 2005. No account no but gave them my address and old address.
They have now returned the cheque saying that they were unable to trace any customer accounts from the info provided.
Any advice about what to do next?
Thanks!0 -
