Hi All
Rang the FOS today and they have told me they have written to Norton and have upheld my claim asking Norton to put things right. The FOS said that if Norton did nt agree it would have to go to the head FO and could take another year which is worrying. As with the credit crunch we are hanging out our bums.
My question is has anyone had dealings with Norton and if so what was the out come.Norton have till the 10th of feb to reply to the FOS.One thing the FOS did say was there was alot of complaints against Norton at the minute and they would be investigated. Norton was the broker and First plus the lender. They hav nt written to First Plus.
My husband wants to ring Norton tomorrow to see what they intend to do but i'm worried it could get there backs up.
Any advice on this post would be great. Many Thanks0 -
HFC
Whats peoples experiance with them?
Had a loan with PPI before they got fined, would it be likely that i would of been mis-sold before the timeframe ?
More than likely. Whether they admit to that is more difficult for us to know. I know that Egg refused someone recently who fell into the time period where they were fined for mis-selling by only a fortnight or so. If anything, HFC will know that they are on a sticky wicket over PPI matters and it may make them more likely to refund you something depending upon how similar your case is to the FSA fine they had (ie. online, in branch, etc?)Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

Zenith and Bowater went into administration so no, they are protected against liability, you could goto the administrators and see if they have any money left, but I would doubt it.
When writing to the FSCS, simply tell them that you believe that you were mis-sold a policy and you would like to claim, as the FSCS are not the lenders your really dont need a template, give them a call and explain the situation, they will be able to give you more details. 020 7892 7301,
Failing that You can always contact the insurer, they may help.0 -

I've been trying to reclaim PPI money, but now i've got another obstacle on my way..
Wrote template letter to Zenith Staybrite ,today received reply saying that Zentih Staybrite were part of Bowater Home Improvements(or other way round). And Bowater wend into administration last january,so now remaining order book changed hands to Weatherseal Holdings.
I found on internet that Weatherseal saved Zenith and they will keep their name.
What i dont understand is to who i've got to write next.I believe that Bowater was only my installers and Zenith the company who arranged my finances.
If Weatherseal took only ,,remaining order book,, who took care of my finances..Is they still belong to Zenith?
It a bit confusing but i hope someone will give me some advice..Thank you
Hi
Right only to make sure we got this right, do you mean you don't know who to write to out of the new people who have taken over or the finance company?
Wonder if incipience could have a say here?
I expect someone has posted up by now......(sorry my computer frozen while writing lol). The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi there
This is the final stages then before this goes to the final person who is the actual ombudsman who investigates further if the company Norton do not agree to uphold your complaint.
Even though they say another year, it could still be possible this will be resolved at an earlier stage, depending again on how quickly the company will act.
As you are aware the numbers are rising every year due to this actual complaint, bug fingers crossed it will be sooner rather than later.
With a bit of luck at this stage.
You could also email them now and again to see how their getting on, there is no harm in doing that.
Norton may not confirm anything, I could be wrong here but they may just say its all being dealt with now by the FOS where the FOS will keep in contact with you.
Yet I do not know what to suggest here really.
I hope you win at this stage anyway and please let us know of any updates, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Weatherfield have probably just purchased the name, and the order book.
Do you have the full names for Zenith and Bowater, were they limited companies,0 -

I have a claim within the FSCS about a different company though that went into liquidation, the FSCS will look into this for you, so its worth contacting them as the FOS are unable to look at complaints with companies that are no longer trading, if I give you the link of the FSCS this should explain what you also need to know and also contact them, they should send you a form to complete where you would explain your complaint to them.
http://www.fscs.org.uk/consumer/
Please let us know, and the best of luck, there may be a list for you to check out as well of companies no longer trading etc.
But the FSCS should be able to confirm if you are eligible to go through them with the company that are no longer running, even though they have been taken over by someone else.;)
Forgot to say, the company where mine is now with the FSCS, they were also taken over, but because this new company are not actually responsible to my knowledge of when you had the finance, its the ones that are no longer trading, I was confused with this myself, the FSCS told me I still go through them with the company that arranged my finance.
I know what you mean though, you could just ring them to be on the safe side, see what they say, if they have the companies name on their database then you go through them. (FSCS).The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
