PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Now I didnt know about this premium until I pulled the paperwork out a couple of weeks ago. Husband was horrified and obviously hadnt taken in what she was saying.
At no point were any questions raised as to whether I was employed/unemployed even though I am on the insurance policy. I am not the major wage earner and am self employed.
He was told that the premium would be added to the loan but not that interest would be charged on this for the whole period.
He is told he can claim a cashback refund of the whole premium - no interest is mentioned or whether that can be claimed back
We have life insurance policies
It was all said so fast i doubt it all had time to sink in!
Hi
If you feel you have reason to complain and reclaim on this then I would write to them and explain your issues here.
Tell them you want this investigated and believe you have reason that you were mis sold, and want to reclaim on the PPI plus interest.
They have 8 full weeks to respond, another letter maybe required, until you receive the final response, if your not happy with the result you should have the option of moving this on to the FOS, they will let you know this in their final letter with an enclosed leaflet.
Also try to check the terms and conds of this policy as well.
Keep at them, and good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi there,
I'm really sorry if this is replying in the wrong thread, but basically I was paying PPI for the whole time I had a Halifax credit card and never claimed. I've since closed the credit card, I had three different cards due to Fraud, so on the template letter I don't have an account number? I also had numerous charges of £12, but have no records of them. Does anyone have any advice? Much appreciated!! x
Definitely reclaim your visa charges. Halifax will generally give in after 3 or so letters and refund you your money. You will have to threaten court in the last one, but generally they pay out within a few months of yor first letter.
On the PPI front with them, I found the Halifax a tough egg to crack, but others have found them generally receptive and received fairly quick refunds.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
You can get back £12 charges.DS1 12/10/04

Not totally sure about it but had enough of them. Gonna get a loan out to pay them off but bit cheesed off by their attitude.
Also received the standard "sorry, we're still investigating your complaint letter" from A&L afetr five weeks.
I had a hike in interest rate from Egg about 5 weeks before they cancelled my account in Jan 08. Seems as if they did this to a number of the people who then had their accounts cancelled.
I'm arguing with them about that too now(Anyone would think I was Victor Meldrew)

I agree and the court route is a big gamble and can be costly too, FOS must think we are all rich.
Court does not have to be expensive, in fact I know of many firms that can take care of it all for you.
I will make a wager with anyone now that within the next 18 months, the whole law industry is going to explode exponentially with No Win No Fee Lawyers, especially in the finance industry. I know its coming, and I know firms are getting there !!!! in place at the moment to get ready for it.
The FOS are as much use as SpongeBob Square Pants as as life reserve.0
