PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

  • I feel as if I'm fighting them all the time! Seriously it's very draining. Thankfully I work with a lovely bunch of guys who have a great sense of humour and a job I enjoy otherwise I would feel very VERY dragged down by all of this. I live close to work so my days aren't as tiring as they once were (I used to have a 6 hour daily commute!) so I'm more relaxed then I've ever been, and more happy than I've ever been, but all of this fighting against 'the system' can be a constant drain knowing that once you've been to work for a day, you then have to continue to research and work on your next step with these banks. It's awfully tiring, hence my thoughts that the no win, no fee guys might be a good next stage for me. Knackered I may be, but I'm certainly not finished!

With Egg it's the interest hike before account closure, the CCA that says 'approved limit' rather than 'credit limit', the fact that they continue to process data about me to 3rd party CRAs even after they terminated my agreement (and sure they can't do that if the agreement is terminated?) and the fact that I've proven and they have admitted that my PPI cover would not have covered me, but they refuse to pay out!

With Sainsburys it was the CCA and PPI issue as well as thei refusal to put things on hold until a dispute was resolved by the FOS. The FOS say that the normal operation of the account continues even if there's a dispute as it's the actual debt that is disputed not whether it can be administered or not (which includes things like interest charges, CRA info..........). I'm sure Sainsburys and HBOS are one and the same in terms of a number of their administrative functions. I'm not sure if Legal Svs is one of those, and this may be something which does ultimately end up in court, but I hope they adopt the typical response of HBoS when something is referred to the FOS, "Ok.....have your stinking money back but we admit nothing!"

These are my last two major financial 'issues' to resolve. My life in the past 5 years has gone from being made redundant to struggling like hell to being turned into a nervous wreck to finally being happy. Money has been such a huge part of these problems. I just need to get Egg and Sainsburys sorted and my finances will have a clean slate and the 'bad old days' will be all but over.

I'm in a wistful mood tonight! (That may be obvious!) I'm having to face facts that I may not have 'won' this round with Sainsburys, so I'm being a bit reflective on life and where I am right now, and conversely where I once was. Thankfully the distance between the two BGBs is immense.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • You are well within your rights to cut up the credit card and ask for the balance to be repaid at the rate before the hike. I know EGG do agree to this..

I had a hike in interest rate from Egg about 5 weeks before they cancelled my account in Jan 08. Seems as if they did this to a number of the people who then had their accounts cancelled.

I'm arguing with them about that too now :p (Anyone would think I was Victor Meldrew)

Isnt there a group complaining to the OFT about it to as it was so unfair.

    Hello
I've been trying to reclaim PPI money, but now i've got another obstacle on my way..
Wrote template letter to Zenith Staybrite ,today received reply saying that Zentih Staybrite were part of Bowater Home Improvements(or other way round). And Bowater wend into administration last january,so now remaining order book changed hands to Weatherseal Holdings.
I found on internet that Weatherseal saved Zenith and they will keep their name.
What i dont understand is to who i've got to write next.I believe that Bowater was only my installers and Zenith the company who arranged my finances.
If Weatherseal took only ,,remaining order book,, who took care of my finances..Is they still belong to Zenith?
It a bit confusing but i hope someone will give me some advice..Thank you

If they bought the order book then they are not responsible for the prior debt, you will have to contact the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
  • MICRO LOANS/ICF LOANS

Hi has anybody had loans with this company?

just want to know as i beleive they might have go into administration?

is there anyway i can reclaim against them?

    HFC

    Whats peoples experiance with them?

Had a loan with PPI before they got fined, would it be likely that i would of been mis-sold before the timeframe ?

    *********************************************************************
Sorry for rattling on but i beleive that all the loans that i've had over the years have had PPI mis-sold from lack of knowledge when it comes to fiancies espcially has these loans have been take out at a very young age 17/18 then just consolidated loan after loan year after year.
I now find myself in a great a great deal of debt and believe i would be in less debt if PPI was explained thoroughly and i could of made a informed choice!!!

now would just like to try and claw some back ! with alittle bit of advice and luck!!

    again sorry for rattaling on!!!

    Cheers Deano!!
