Hi there if they are back dating they must think your case is reasonable so you could get the whole amount back. You have not given your reasons for miss selling? If you need the money take it but if you feel you have a good casse with PPI plus interesst etc this could be about 4800 so your choice.

welcome by the way and post back in whichever way you need to. Somebody will always answer you post:D.

    thanks max dp

i feel i was mis sold because i was told if i didnt take the insurance i wouldnt get the finance. do i now do the without predudice letter template etc and battle on asking for the 3274.68 plus interest?

Yes see if you can get them to pay you all you are owed. Ask nicely though so you do not upset them to much.

Hi, just when Barclays had to reply about my PPI claim, i get a letter containing a copy of my application and it says i have been employed (something i have never been) and its ticked that i want a ppi. It has my signature and a date. Now, i don't remember this document and i am sure i got the insurance iver the phone once i was calling about a transaction and i remember telling them i was self employed  Up till now they have refussed to send me the full SAR and out of the blue this copy. Guess i have to say goodbuy to my claim, as they will say i have lied, which i wouldn't do, i'm too scared of liying to banks and institutions, esp when i was new in this contry, i would have never done such a thing.

P.S: Just noticed it says it's an application for FA Barclaycard Premiership/Mastercard, which i got a few years later, so really confused

    Hi there.;)
If you request a SAR with a payment of £10 postal order or cheque payment they "must" comply by 40 days, if they do not then report them to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), details below.
They must not deny you your personal data.

Here is the link to the SAR letter template if you require this and not actually done this in writing yet:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553
    Post by recorded delivery.

Here are the details for the ICO dept if you have already requested an SAR in writing with payment, where they are refusing this:
    https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx

For more information on PPI reclaiming, check here below, there is a useful checklist of mis selling reasons, and templates, they have 8 weeks in full to respond on this one, please do ask for further help on this if required, good luck.;)

Hi, di, i have already contacted the ICO. Barclays seems to send me a bit of paper whenever they feel like it. But the SAR now is not a problem, i keep almost all of my statesments and i just needed the date of the policy. So i got that and now after this copy in the mail today without any covering letter i don't know what to do.

    Hi hun

Have you started the reclaiming as well?

If so and they will not resolve in your favour, then take your complaint to the Financial ombudsman service, I would wait for a final response, keep at them and if you can as well, ask them to send you a copy of the phone recordings.
Do keep on at them though, they will try anything to put you off, this is what they want, but the FOS will look into both sides and they all look at these single premium policies very dimly and are used to these businesses fobbing off everyone.
Just as long as you have an account number that is fine, you do not need any figures to write on reclaiming letters either.;)

I have started my claim (ppi on my visa card) and the final responce should be received by next week. As i said the application was for a premiership mastercard. Don't know if it was a routine procedure to apply for one but give you another card and the ppi (even if i chose to have, hypotethicaly) would apply to the visa:confused: How can i proof i got the ppi via the phone if they have this copy, which has all the ticks and stating i was employed (which i wasn't) The ticks have not been put by me, i can take a lie detector test. is it possible they have put them after i returned the signed copy, but why would they do that, i don't think they would.

The boxes may have been pre ticked so that you had to opt out of the insurance rather than opting in.

No, they have been manualy ticked and if i had to tick them it wouldn't look like the way they have done it. Even if they have done it and send it to me to sign they will argue i just signed and agreed, am i right?

Looks like a few Ocean claims are now being upheld by the FOS, good news for all those waiting for claims to be looked at by the FOS like me
