  • Hi All,

Wondering if anyone can help?! I have started the process of claiming back my PPI from a RBS bank loan that I took out in the latter part of 2004. I have sent my local branch letter 1 from the templates on the main site requesting a copy my loans policy.

I received a phone call from my branch manager stating that he could not find any loan linked to my account and without my original paperwork, which I no longer have, or loan account number he could not provide further details.

Can you please advise my next step?

    Cheers

    Hi There

If they are being difficult what you can do is to send the SAR letter which is on the front page as STICKY on this thread. Send cheque for £10 and send recorded delivery. They will then have to send copies of all information they hold in your name. Send to the Head Office you will find address on another STICKY on front page posted by Di. Hope this helps. Good Luck

I found dealing with RBS local branch DIRE but when I gave up on them and called Head Office I had much more success. In fact I claimed PPI back on a loan and it didnt take too long before they refunded all the money, giving me the choice of whether to reduce the loan with it - I plumped for a bit of both - reduced the loan (considerably) and a small sum to pay off the credit card. All this without having to go to the Ombudsman.

I wrote to Sainbury's Bank requesting details of a loan I had with them but paid off in 2005. All I knew was the amount I had paid early and the date.

They wrote back and said they didn't need to provide me with any of those details BUT the heading on their letter referred to my loan number which was exactly what I needed. Duh!

Have now sent in my claim and received a response from them saying they are investigating it.

Saved me £10 on a SAR.

I am sure they will have this info but not at local level. Keep going :j

Hopefully its just Picture for the statements of what we have paid so they can work out what to pay us back. Tee Hee!

Delighted to join this thread. I have also been waiting since February for PPI reclaim from Picture. Today I gave them a call - they said my claim went to be calculated on 6th July and I should wait 3 - 4 weeks then they will write to me again. I suspect the third parties mentioned in the thread are the insurance companies; there were two associated with my loan. One was for life assurance and the other for employment cover. FSCS need to work out hope much the actual premiums to them have cost and how much has already been paid to them. This amount should be refunded.

Cool that worked out well then :T.

However, sometimes a SAR can still be useful, for example, if you went as far as the FOS in the end, there maybe some useful information enclosed within the SAR, but see how you go first, hopefully they will resolve in your favour anyway, so there would be no need to go to the FOS, fingers crossed for you.;)
