    Hi,

I have sent Barclaycard a letter regarding miss-selling of PPI using the templates found on this wonderful site.

The thing is Barclaycard took over Morgan Stanley cards, which mine was originally with.

They have replied to me with a Payment Protection Insurance Complaint Customer Questionnaire.. (yeah, that is the full name)

They have all sorts of silly questions really. Policy Number, Date of Policy Telephone Numbers, etc

Then the reason for my complaint. I already stated the reason in my first letter. To tell you the truth. I had NO idea that I had PPI and when I saw it on my statement I assumed that it was part and parcel of the card. It was only later after reading about it that I realised it was optional.

What do I answer to these questions?

How did you purchase the PPI?
Where you informed of the 30 day cancellation?
Can you recall what info you were told during the sale of the ppi?

The one that throws me the most is : Are there any other pertinent facts why you should not have taken out the cover? (What is this suppose to mean?)

Then there are questions about disability, existing medical condition.

I have never claimed and to be honest, like I said, I can not even recall that I ever agreed to this as when I saw the extortionate amount that I have been paying over the last 4 years, in the region of £1200, I felt a bit cheated really.

Now it's like I am being interrogated. How do I answer these questions without sounding like an idiot? I genuinely can't recall agreeing to ANY of this let alone the date it was taken out. I saw on my statements that it started in the first month if me opening the account and I can recall applying for the card via a "brochure" type junk mail thingy they sent addressed to me.

Can anyone give me pointers how to approach this, has received this questionnaire? It would be much appreciated. As I think this is another psychological ploy by the bank to put you off completing the claim.

Thanks for your time in advance.

    Hello there.;)

What year did you take out this policy?

If within the last 6 years, they should still hold details of when this was sold to you on data, otherwise if earlier years, they may no longer hold your information and require for you to complete the questionaire in order for them to investigate.

If within the last 6 years, tell them they should already hold your details on microfiche/data from when they sold you the policy and please refer to them.

If not then answer to the best of your knowledge, then if you a copy of the original letter you sent to them, enclose a copy of that and make them aware the reasons as all disclosed in the letter enclosed, please refer to the letter. Also tell them that you look forward to hearing from them from the date of the original letter you sent them.

Not everyone completes them, but will let them know it is not completed because they should still hold the details, and they must still investigate by the 8 weeks they have.

It is entirely up to you.
Either way, good luck with this and please keep us posted.;)

PS, it can be a stalling tactic and these questionaires are becoming a common issue, but do what you feel is right but stand your ground.

    Hi,
I have had a few loans with Egg. The first I can't remember what exactly happened so will ignore that one, but for sure the last 2 I had pushy salesmen who basically said you're not getting the loan if you don't accept PPI. I needed the money and went ahead with them.

I'm going to put in a claim, but should I write 2 seperate letters, or just combine it in 1?

    Thanks,
    G.

    Thanks Amersall

I will wait til I receive the offer and the disc then get my letter ready for the FOS, do you think it is worthwhile writing to them stating the above? And maybe see if they are going to back down or maybe just wait and go to the FOS. I have calculated everything I think I am due.

If I took the loan out in 2006 and paid this from say July 2006 to now which is 3 yrs is the 8% only for the total amount you have paid or is it 8% per year for the interest? I have read different stories on here that say its 8% but others that say its 8% per year that you paid the loan for?

Need to get all the answers before I write to the FOS.....oh the joys!:D:eek:
not sure on that. i would think 8% a year for total payments, as that is what you would have had in interest if you put the money into a savings account, i could be wrong but someone who knows will let you know i am sure, either way its a nice tidy sum, i would not get in touch with them again, they will just stall you, wait for disc then go to fos

    Hi
Well the Fos have told me they cant help with my complaint against Direct auto finance as they werent authorised by the FSA at the time i took out the car loan. What do i do now?

My complaint with London Scottish has been referred to a company called Deloite by the FSCS.. has anyone had any dealings with this company?

    Thanks for your help

There are a few with complaints at the FSCS that have been referred to Deloite I have read. Its all for other firms that are in default. I am sure others will be along to post soon. Good luck with that one.

As regards the one that FOS have said is outside of their jurisdiction I myself am in a similar boat with one of mine but there are always the courts if you feel strong enough. Its so unfair when we had no protection at the time of our loans but our complaints are still of the same reasons. I would however make complaints about them to the OFT (they will hold a consumer credit licence) and also the FSA too. The more people that do this the more they will realise that these issues go back further than a few years ago. It may help others in the future. You are not alone.

    Hi there

lol, just left a post in the other thread you posted as well but not to worry I shall delete that one now.;) Glad you found your way here and welcome to this thread.

If you have the correct account number details for your reclaim letter that is fine, but I would also write back and ask them why have you got an agreement with the wrong date?
    As this may confuse matters.

I take it you have already made a start then going by your post with the reclaiming, will add the link here anyway, in case you need to refer to it again.

They have 8 weeks to respond in full keep on at them.
Post by recorded delivery, if they do not resolve in your favour by the final decision then move on to the FOS, they should give details of these in the final response.
And also post all letters by recorded delivery.

    Good luck.;)
