  • I recevied the letter today from LCUK which was the same as the email. Now I will go to the FOS. I dont think I will get this back as they have the evidence that I definately said I wanted to take the PPI out. How can I get round this?

The telephone call is very calm and I have agreed to everything. I feel such a fruit!

When I write to the FOS how can I tell them I have been mis=sold when its there in black and white that I havent?

Also I am lost as why would they say they wanted to offer me a refund as a good will gesture when they deny I have been mis-sold? Surely they are admitting they have mis-sold me?>

Oh I give in dont know what to do now - I am goin to do my letter tonight when I finish work and am back home.

Evidence or not did they explain that this PPI was in actual fact a loan and would incur interest for the full term and only most likely cover you ONLY for the first 5 years of your loan. Also did they ask you about previous medical conditions and would you have been covered for these? Were you actually eligible to use the PPI work wise? Don't be disheartened by this. They want you to give up trying but you have to remember that this was a single premium policy and they are not the cheapest option. Were you given any option to taking this or told you could buy something cheaper elsewhere.

They have offered you a goodwill gesture in the hope that you will accept and go away but in reality they would offer nothing if they had done nothing wrong.

I have just started claiming back my PPI from various lenders that I have had loans/credit cards from in the past.

I posted my first letters on 17th July, today I received a letter back from Welcome Finance, which states that they do not feel they can accept my complaint, as they do not have sufficient information. Therefore they attached a questionnaire fro me to return, which asks the following; when I first became aware I had a complaint, how did I take out the policy, my exact reasons for the complaint, what I remember from the time I took the policy, what documentation I was given, details about my job.

However this loan was only taken out last September when my partner and I ran into some financial difficulties :( and needed a loan to help us out, unfortunately these were the only lender on the market at the time that we could borrow from, so to be accepted for the £18k loan we took out the PPI.

What more information could they possibly want, I would of thought the loan agreement documentation should be fairly close to hand, anyway should I return the questionnaire or should I just send a letter back?

    Can anyone please advise?

    Hello there, ;)

I posted my first letters on 17th July, today I received a letter back from Welcome Finance, which states that they do not feel they can accept my complaint, as they do not have sufficient information. This is a standard procedure by many of them now, however, if your loan is less than 6 years old, you could send the form back with the letter (not completed), and tell them to refer to the date they sold you the finance, as they should still hold your details.

However this loan was only taken out last September when my partner and I ran into some financial difficulties :( and needed a loan to help us out, unfortunately these were the only lender on the market at the time that we could borrow from, so to be accepted for the £18k loan we took out the PPI.
If you only taking this loan out last year, they should still hold your details, again tell them to refer to the sale of this last September, tell them they should already know because they arranged the finance for you.

What more information could they possibly want, I would of thought the loan agreement documentation should be fairly close to hand, anyway should I return the questionnaire or should I just send a letter back?
Many say its a stalling tactic, you have already done your bit, so it is entirely up to you if you want to complete the questionaire or not, but if you do just answer the best to you knowledge or even write "please refer to application September 2008".

    Can anyone please advise?
They must deal with your complaint either way, have they give you a timescale on the questionaire?

Good luck with this, the best thing to do is keep on at them, and if they do not resolve in your favour by the final decision, move on to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).;)

    Hi everyone

I've found the account numbers for my, now closed, TSB loan and PPI plan.

I'm interested in putting in a claim for the PPI but wondered if the fact I can't remember what date my loan started and exactly how much it was for would hurt my claim? Also I am interested in submitting the SAR as detailed on PG1 but don't know if TSB would still hold any details for me? I closed my loan and account with them in 2006.

As mentioned above I only have the account numbers and a receipt for day the balance of loan was paid off.

    Any advice most appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi there

Lloyds TSB should be able to provide you with all details of the SAR going back as far as 6 years if you live in England or Wales and Scotland 5 years, so you should have no problem there.
Remember to add the £10 for this request by either cheque or postal order payment and they have 40 days to comply, and post by recorded delivery.
It does not matter if any accounts are closed.
I was lucky enough to receive documentation going back even further than 6 years, and that was Lloyds TSB as well, good luck.

It is only £10 you require to enclose for the whole of the SAR.

    Hi there,

Newbie here, .... so be gentle with me.

I am in the process of claiming back CC payment protection from Lloyds TSB. I have only just noticed that I have been paying payment protection thru finding this website a few months back.

A few years ago they changed my card from a visa card to a new mastercard and I received no paperwork or agreed to Payment protection on this or the previous Lloyds TSB card which I had which I was transferred to when the Lloyds and TSB merged many years ago.

I am halfway thru my 8 weeks and I had an update letter recently to say that they have not been able to resolve my complaint and will continue to look into the issues I've raised. Apparently, it's takin them longer to gather all info but should be able to respond to me within the next 4 weeks.

I don't have any documentation but what I do know is that I was never given the choice to accept/decline this cover so I'm hoping that this will stand me in good stead.

What do you think? Have I a chance?

I was successful in claiming back ppi from A&L, in fact they actually contacted me to ask if I had been missold and I advised them that I was told I could only get the loan if I took ppi and I got £1700 back :D

    Hi all

Just an update, still waiting to hear back from Lloyds TSB. I initially raised the complaint around 14 June and the update letter around 19 July, so should I be expecting a response soon??

Hi there, yes by the 8 full weeks the latest, however, if you hear nothing you can always go to the FOS.
Hope you hear soon with some good news, good luck.;)
