Nassie has rang A&L this morning and someone should look at her claim today, if not tomorrow at the latest and she should get a response on Friday.
I have told her not to hold her breath as we have heard this all before
Good luck to nassie.;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi all. Have received a letter from Ace catalogues this morning about the ppi reclaim. They say that i was offered as an optional service on a non-advised basis on 1st oct 2005 following a phone call to place an order.A copy of t&c's is sent by post, detailing the cancelation rights and that it was up yo me to read to determine whether the policy was suitable for me. I have Rheumatoid arthritis since 2001 so i would not have taken out the policy knowing that there were exclusions on pre existing conditions. I also cancelled this policy in february 2008 when I realised what I was paying for. Can I carry on claiming as they are now tilling me that i can send my complaint to the FOS
I agree, go for it and keep on at them, you have a good reason here.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Di, just realised that i had the same response from vanquis, they even sent me a copy of the cd-rom when i agreed to paying the ppi, but i couldn't play it cos i needed something on my computer to listen to it, so i gave up on them. I hope i still have the paperwork!
Good luck with this dreamer06.;)
When I was listening to an old CD supplied from Nemo, it was a very jumpy disc, as if bits of the conversation were missing, the FOS picked up on this as well, however, there was still some interesting conversation left on there what the FOS picked up on which helped our case.
Is it that type of CD only suitable for the computer dreamer06?
If you cannot listen to this on yours is there anyone you know that would be able to help you out on this one?The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

No I dont hun, i've snapped the cd up now because i tried it on everything, it came up on screen that the conversation was with me & the date etc but no sound at all, it was just a blue screen with some type of soundwaves going across the screen!
I see, I would ask if there is another way they can produce it, the first one we received it would not work, then they arranged to send another.
Still if you have the paperwork that should be okay, fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi there is this was the first response, then I would write back and stand her ground, ask them to reconsider, they will in the final response give details of the FOS.;)
But it is up to your mum, normally there has to be a final response, but if she wants to go to the FOS at this stage, tell her to ring them first and see what they suggest, good luck and tell your mum to keep on at them, she received a standard fob off response.;)
Hi Di,
She called the bank this morning and they said that she should just go straight to Ombudsman as they have investigated everything and they think they have done everything correct. They have also told her FOS have a 6 month back log.
Is this normal?0 -

Hi hun
It seems then they will not investigate any further, and to basically make sure that your mum sends the complaint before the 6 month timescale as from the date on the last letter.;)
Unfortunately the FOS are struggling to keep up due to the volume of these actual complaints, but if your mum is in any financial hardship, is to let the FOS know about this and also request if they are able to fast track.
Even though I do understand there may be a backlog for fast track as well.
Your mum can either ring the FOS for a complaints form, or download and print from their website, remember to enclose a copy of the final letter from the ones you complained about, and give any details of any financial hardship as well to request for fast tracking, "if this is also the case".

Good luck with this and please keep us posted and ask for help when required.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
